Lindsey walked into the shop, her heart pounding threw her chest. She was so excited over the fact that she was a witch who now owned her first wand. She had it in a pouch her grandmother had given her. She came back to reality and she looked at the owls. She saw white ones, black one, and brown one. She also saw grey one and Honey colored ones. She smiled at all the owls and she touched some of the cages. She saw one she really like. It was a male, black barn owl.
It seemed so sweet and happy and she wanted it so badly and it did not seem like much. She looked into her pocket and brought out 20 gold peices. She smiled, Perfect! and she had plenty left over so she could get her books and robes. She then went to the counter. Her blonde hair fell in her face and she just moved it and her eyes seemed to come out at people.
"Hi, I would like that Black Barn owl please" She said with a sweet voice like a sunset. She gave a smile full of happpiness but it had a nervous shake to it. "Sorry if I sound alittle rattly but I am so nervous." The lady infront of her seemed to laugh at her. She knew how she felt. Lindsey looked at her like she was crazy. She did not really understand. She was a first year at Hogwarts and she was getting her first owl. What was to be nervouse for.
"He is 20 gold peices, ma'am, and I understand that you are nervous, It is a normal first year reaction" Lindsey smiled knowing it had to be normal. She nodded, the lady behind the counter went to get the black owl and it came out with ease. "Here let see if he likes you" She had him to Lindsey and Lindsey held him with ease. "Here you want him on your shoulder, He will get bigger so he will be good, he is only immature but he is the sweetest owl in the shop" She looked at Lindsey and then the owl. "Do you have a name for him"
Lindsey gave him a stroke, "How about William...He looks like a brave knight..." The lady nodded and Lindsey gave her the gold peices she had to pick up from the counter because she was scared it would be stolen. "Come on William, Lets go home"
"OH, here is a cage for him" The lady said taking down the cage and handing it to Lindsey. Lindsey wrapped her hand around the cage handle and took her other hand and placed it over William's side. She waved good bye and left
