Freedom. Freedom from her parents, from her responsibilities at home, from the idiot Muggles that lived around her. Freedom was a sweet, sweet, sweet pleasure that Pandora Hazel Lennox looked forward to each and every school year. She was her own her person, responsible for herself, and could make independent choices. Yes, freedom was one of the best things about going to Hogwarts.
That is if she ignored Quidditch, Charms class, and the weekend trips to Hogsmeade.
Pandora had left home a little early this year. Being sixteen, her parents trusted her enough to let her go to Diagon Alley on her own this year. She had to pick up school supplies and the usual things before she left for school. Of course she'd get it all done as quickly as she could to leave time to lounge around Diagon Alley.
She loved lounging around the town. She loved trying to achieve the look and attitude of someone who lived there and wasn't one of the silly Hogwarts students scrambling around trying to get their school supplies. Above the crowd is what she always tried to achieve.
Today was no exception. She was adorn in clothing that would make her seem like she just didn't care what she looked like but she did indeed put a lot of effort into what she wore. On her torso was a tight green short sleeve shirt, the sleeves covering no more than an inch or two. Hanging from her shoulders was a yellow sun-dress; it had thin straps and hugged her figure until the hips. Once the dress was that far down, it swayed freely about until it hit her knees, where the small white flower print ended. On her feet were simple green flats and her jewelry was plastic, chunky, and white. Leaving her hair scrunched added to the simplicity of her look today.
Having her parents leave her at the door to the Leaky Cauldron, Pandora was left good sized sack full of money (plus her full bank account further in the town) and freedom. She walked into the building, her large trunk behind her. It was a pain for her to lug all the way over to the check-in desk so she could get a room but she managed.
Receiving her key and what room she was staying in, Pandora decided it was best to take her trunk to her room. Straining herself, she was mentally bashing on her strength. C'mon, you're a chaser for heaven's sake! You need enough upper body strength to whip around a quaffle but you can't drag your trunk around? Currently she had no idea if she'd be on the team this year, but she had been every year previous. Hopefully she would.
After what seemed like hours, she finally got her trunk to her room. Finally, she thought. She let out a sigh of relief and satisfaction and began making her way back to the main room. Deciding to grab a bite to eat before heading out into town, Pandora ordered a bowl of chicken noodle soup, one of her favorite things, and sat down at a table and enjoyed the warm broth as it ran down her.
