Abbie could see his eyes darting from her and back to the eye again as if contemplating something. She wouldn't doubt it. He was always planning the 'next move' or devising some type of plot that would have an amazing impact on everybody around him. Jude was just that way- he was always the center of attention and always wanted to be the one to impress. Abbie believed she had this guy figured out already. But, as always, she was probably wrong and would be proved so in a very large-like manner. Either it would be shoved in her face or somebody would taunt her for it for quite a while making her feel rather ashamed for quite a good time. It was like the time she guessed her brother was dating somebody.
Abbie schemed and schemed to catch her brother and his beau in the act of a relationship. Whether it be kissing, holding hands, or even the simple stroke of a leg (which every time Abbie thought of such a gesture she would furrow her eyebrows as if disgusted that her brother could even be involved in that). For weeks she hid in the section next to theirs in the library, but still nothing. She would peek over to the Ravenclaw table to see if Jack ever made a move on the girl. After a good bit of wasting almost an entire semester to devote to revealing his secret affair, Abbie came clean to him. She was quite shocked to find him laughing directly in her face too for he explained that they were only Potions partners and the professor was working them to the bone. Now that she thought of it, the professor that year had been quite challenging. But, no matter, Abbie had been proved wrong before and it was quite embarrassing the first time. She did not want to endure yet another moment like that.
'It's not real' he said to her with that boyish smirk of his gleaming upon his features. Abbie's disgusted expression was completely turned into that of a giggle. She had known something was wrong with that eye and she just could not put her finger on it (like she would want to anyway). The eyeball squirmed helplessly in Jude's hand as he explained the origin of it's being making Abbie suddenly uncomfortable. 'It can see through solid objects, even invisibility cloaks'. At that notion, she swiftly moved her hand to the clutches of her robe and pulled it closer to cover her body. Daringly, she shot a glance at Jude and squinted her eyes just as she had before when she was motioning that he would die if he tried anything.
Instead, he continued on telling her even more things it could see through. Yes, Abbie was completely uneasy now. She grabbed her legs, that were currently folded into a nice sitting position, and pulled them up to rest against her chest. Raising an eyebrow at Jude as if suddenly concerned, she rested her chin on her knees. Somehow she had a feeling that nothing was going to happen, but he was definitely planning the 'next move' and it might not be a bright one.
But, he offered to let her hold the squirmish eyeball making Abbie stretch out her hand. It was really soft to the touch and it almost feel gooey. They sure did make these things feel authentic. Currently, the pupil was not staring directly at her so, giving a deep breath to herself, she tapped the side of the glass. It immediately rolled over to stare at her making the situation of the moment even more awkward than she could possibly imagine. With more annoyance than disgust, Abbie reached out her hand to Jude as if offering him to take it back. Although, it was more of a demand than an offer.
"The things people find..." she said.

Jude could see Abbie acting different as he went on to explain the glass eye. Clearly he had only made her more uneasy despite his efforts earlier. She had assumed the worst. Although Jude was probably the exact guy people thought would do such a rotten thing, but he had no intentions of tricking Abbie. The eye was merely an eye and it would only see through things when it's in the head of a person. Jude sighed heavily, knowing exactly what she was thinking by the way she re-contorted herself. She was trying to expose herself less, and at first it took Jude a moment to realize why. On other girls, maybe, but on Abbie he'd never even dream of attempting such a move.
"You can relax," Jude said finally. "It would only work if it was in my head, and frankly I don't plan on replacing my eyeball with this thing any time soon," he added. He paused for a moment, staring at the grass in front of him and suddenly feeling ashamed, even though he hadn't done anything. "I wouldn't do that..." he said in a quiet mumble while still staring at the grass. Jude wasn't surprised that Abbie might think he was up to something, but he didn't like the idea of Abbie thinking he was some sort of creep. With a reputation like his, it was rather hard to avoid though. In that moment Jude felt as if he had a guilty consceince (which he did) but it had taken him until now to recognize it.
Jude took the eye back from Abbie, who did not appear very exhilarated with his rare find, and shoved it back in to his pocket. "Yeah..." he said dully, leaning back on his hands again. Things were awkward for a moment as a small stretch of silence arose. Jude bit his bottom lip while glancing at his watch. There was still much time before the sun would rise and he was running out of ways to entertain Abbie. Showing her the glass eye hadn't been very successful and all of sudden Jude reminded himself that he should stop trying so hard to hold her attention. There was no one else at the lake after all.
Before Jude could stop himself, he blurted out the first thing that was on his mind to break the silence "Abbie, do you really find me that repulsive?" He had just revealed that her opinions and thoughts mattered, and they were currently occupying Jude's mind more than he would've liked. It was too late to take it back now, Jude had said it. He desperately wished she wouldn't catch on to the fact that she dwelled on his mind often, but it was so obvious it was practically unavoidable. Jude tried to think of something, anything, he could say to save himself but there was nothing he could think of. He felt a little vulnerable having told Abbie what was on his mind. They weren't exactly 'friends' afterall... At least, that's what Jude would tell anyone who asked. He licked his lips and stared around at the empty grounds, wishing that he just kept his mouth shut for the first time in his life.

Abbie sat there, with her hand outstretched, holding the squirming eye, and her legs crossed as if defending her body. She expected the last thing that came out of Jude's mouth to be something sincere, but she had been proved wrong. It was extremely sincere- at least for his standards. Abbie quirked her head at him, her eyes squinting as if trying to determine what exactly was going on. This was Jude- the Slytherin. The boy who believed that all girls were attractive pieces of meat for the taking. The boy who believed that all of the female race existed just to please him and him only. Of course, a few other Slytherin boys believed just the same, but not with as much determination as Abbie had seen in Jude for the past five year. Yet, now, he told her in almost a disappointed way that he wouldn't do that.
Abbie recoiled her hand as he took the eye from her fingers and continued to stare at him in almost disbelief. Her friends would be so annoyed with her right now. She could almost hear their complaints right now. 'Stop staring, you buffoon!', 'Say something for Merlin's sake!'. But, all that was almost tuned to the back of her brain. Right now all Abbie could think about was what he thought of her. She must have looked like a complete idiot sitting here defending herself when he planned to do nothing. If anything, she must have appeared to look like a total jerk to be sitting here assuming he was that bad. But, hadn't Abbie heard stories about Jude? Hadn't she heard the rumors explicitly explaining how no girl could resist his charm? Why was he so suddenly regarding all the rumors? It made no sense at all.
The awkward situation only seemed to grow when he sighed to himself. The only sound was the sound of the eye settling into his pocket and the lake's ripples from the wind. It was a calming experience, just as Abbie had wanted it to be when she planned to escape in the night. But, something was wrong. Jude was silent. He was thinking. Just as he always did when he was perplexed about something or when he was plotting. Abbie suddenly hated the silence. But, it was oddly broke by a comment Abbie had never expected to hear. 'Abbie, do you really find me that repulsive?'
She didn't even care anymore that she was busy staring at him (which she just now realized she was doing). He was probably extremely uncomfortable anyway and Abbie, at the moment, was feeling the same uncertainty. She was still trying to process the last sentence in her mind. Maybe Jude did have a caring bone in his body. Maybe he did wonder what others thought about him. Maybe, for once, he liked somebody other than a tall blonde with big breasts. Wait, what was Abbie thinking? She blinked a few times and looked to the ground beside her. No, no, her brain must be functioning weird. There is no way that he liked her and the fact that she had just convinced herself of the possibility made her almost want to run back to her common room and curl up into a little ball.
No, Abbie did not like Jude and she was trying her best to convince herself of it. His hair was so wacky... yet so adorable. His smile was devious and mean... yet so caring. His eyebrows were too bushy. There! Abbie nodded her head as if proud that she found something about him that was appalling. And yet, as he looked back at her with his almost hurt expression, she couldn't help but think that maybe those eyebrows were rather cute. They accented his facial figure and made his face look more lean. Wait, NO! Abbie was NOT thinking about any of this. No, no, no. She would simply just tell him he was repulsive and that she never wanted to talk to him again.
"No, of course not." Woah, great plan. Yet, somehow Abbie just couldn't help herself from telling the truth. She couldn't just lie to his face. The only way Abbie could do that was if she was lying to make somebody feel better. And her lie would have been just terrible. "I've known you since my first year. You've just always been... I don't know... Jude." Boy, she hoped that was a nice way to put it.

Jude stared in to Abbie's eyes and looked no where else. He thought she seemed like she was carefully formulating a response, but maybe he was only being paranoid. Why he was being paranoid in the first place was completely beyond Jude. He never got this feeling around anyone. His stomach was reacting in a way it never had before. He felt nervous and awkward but not so much in a bad way. What was happening to him? These feelings had never taken a place in the malicious slytherin boy before. Abbie's mere presence did something to him that he plainly couldn't understand. He wasn't used to feeling anything real for a girl, if that's what it was. Girls were just an object to him. Something to satisfy his 'male driven needs'. Around Abbie the thought never occupied his mind though. There was something about her that he couldn't figure out but the way she made him feel drove him nuts. It was such a stretch from his usual conduct.
No matter how many times he tried to remind himself that Abbie was certainly not the girl for him, she'd just look at him from her large, round, chocolate brown eyes and it made him change his mind completely. Even if it was one of those disapproving looks he got from her that made him feel like everything he had ever done was a mistake. He blatantly wondered whether her mind was racing as fast as his was and whether it might have been thinking of similar things. The insecure part of Jude (that rarely ever made an appearance) told him otherwise though.
She was probably disgusted by his mannerisms and the reputation that followed him everywhere. But what she didn't know was that Jude was almost like a changed person when he was around her. Abbie made him want to be different, and want to do something more with himself than get drunk on firewhiskey and get around with all the girls in school. Jude was a train wreck, but how he felt around Abbie was one of the very few things that kept him on the tracks. His eyes widened ever so slightly at the sound of her response. Was she serious? He was preparing to hear a stream of reasons why she didn't like him, but she had stated the exact opposite.
He couldn't help but smiling a bit at what he heard Abbie say. Not in an arrogant way like he usually did, but in a way that honestly said 'thanks'. Jude stopped leaning back on his hands and straightened his sitting position. "Well... I don't think you're half bad either," he said with a small chuckle. The tone of his voice was an odd one to hear. It was not deceitful or mocking, it was genuine and not something that was normally heard coming out of his mouth. Jude looked to his watch, suddenly realizing that he wished the next hour or so would go by more slowly. Once Abbie had seen the sunset she would no longer have a reason to stick around any longer.
Jude spent a bit of time looking fixedly at her. He didn't know what came over him, or why he said what he was about to say but he felt that if he didn't it would burst out of him. The least he could do was warn her, because if he had done anything she didn't like, he never would have forgiven himself for it. Jude's heart began to race as he opened his mouth to speak. "Abbie..." he started to say slowly. He bit his bottom lip, still not used to these feelings of uneasiness within him. "I might kiss you."

She was extremely nervous at what his reaction might be. But, he really showed no more signs of weakness at all. She half expected him to be rather irritated or even angry that she would even dare to say such a thing about him. Abbie could only imagine him now- glaring at her and then taking out a cigarette to go smoke it elsewhere. And she would be left to watch the sunset alone. Which, she quickly realized, was now a great fear of her's. She did not want to be left alone- especially after this entire conversation. Jude was somehow comforting. In a nasty, Slytherin way of course.
'Well... I don't think you're half bad either'. Abbie's eyes opened wide as she heard this and then smiled at him. She tried not to let her mostly-hidden ego show for it was not like her to do such a thing. She liked to keep her self-confidence to a minimum in public for it was so large that if she were to reveal it, she would be thought of as a jerk and possibly the nastiest of them all. Yes, Abbie was rather talented at Charms and had the highest marks in there throughout the entire sixth year class, but tried to never let her ego get in the way of things. Yet, while she was alone, she often expressed her own brilliance by writing into her diary. She hoped to Merlin that nobody would ever find such a key to her own mind. It could possibly be her downfall.
Now, Abbie was not completely self-absorbed. The only things she happened to be self-absorbed in were her studies and Quidditch. Everything else was just a downer and she did not believe herself to be better than anybody else. In fact, she was a rather humble person, to be sure. But, those words spoken by Jude were just enough to let her show a slightly more giddy side of Abbie. "Oh really?" she remarked giving a cheesy grin and letting herself go back to her former comfortable sitting position with her legs crossed into an Indian-like position. Her 'moment' didn't exactly last long, though, for he did not answer immediately to her mockery-filled comment. Instead he just sat there. He was thinking again.
Abbie was convinced that he never stopped thinking. His brain was constantly on 'Power' and never seemed to go off. Even when he was speaking to her, she believed that he was thinking of the possibilities of things she might say. And then maybe he would think of what his response would be to each of those possibilities. It was a crazy thought, but Abbie wouldn't doubt if he was smart enough to be able to function that way. He was a very talented wizard and probably one of the more talented of the Slytherins, as it was. Still- he was a thinking machine and it nearly irked Abbie to the point of non-existence.
The next phrase, though, simply wiped Abbie of all her own thoughts. The next phrase astounded her beyond repair and it even took her a few seconds to re cooperate. She was doomed to be sitting there with her jaw dropped and her eyes simply plastered to look at him. She did not even blink within the whole ten second pause that erupted between the two. And those could have been the longest ten minutes in history. He said he would kiss her. Yes, that is exactly what he said and Abbie was trying her best to evaluate that that is exactly what he said. But, there was no doubt about it. He wanted to kiss her. It would indubitably be her first kiss and probably the hundredth of Jude's. But, still, the fact remained. It was a kiss.
Abbie blinked a few times before trying to gather her own breath and comment on such matters. She was beyond the surprised emotion now. She was to the point of believing the end of the world had just arrived. "E-excuse me?" was all she could seem to muster out at the moment. Her voice was rather shaky and she was starting to believe that maybe it was fact that the situation was perfect. They were here alone and Jude has nothing else to do. Maybe he just wanted to say that he had actually succeeded in snogging the 'un-snoggable'. Maybe he just wanted bragging rights. But, then again, maybe he liked her.
"You...um... you must be kidding, right?" Abbie used her hands to scoot her bottom slightly away from his presence. "I mean... you hate me. It's always been like that. I've known you since forever. You hate me." It was almost as if she was trying to convince herself that he did. She didn't want to believe this. The one guy who she disliked as much as mortally possible, but still secretly dreamed of them together, liked her? This had to be a dream... or a nightmare. Abbie couldn't tell, but she was at least determined to find out if she was asleep. She lifted herself up from off the ground and walked toward the lake, her arms crossing once more. But, this time they were sort of lumped on top of each other in confusion rather than crossed in defiance.
"If I am dreaming, please hit me now." She whispered, turning around to face him. She was not hurt, but more around the lines of extremely curious as to what was going to happen. What if this wasn't a dream? What if he wasn't kidding? What if he liked her? How much would change? How much would her friends want to kill her, was the real question.

Jude saw Abbie's jaw drop and eyes widen. He had definitely surprised her, but Jude had never been more honest in his life. All of a sudden he started to feel a little inexperienced. Jude had kissed loads of girls before, but they had never meant anything to him. He had never kissed them out of the honesty in his microscopic heart. It was always meaningless and purely for his own physical enjoyment. There's was nothing behind it.
Abbie was quiet for a long moment, a moment that Jude thought couldn't have possibly gone by slower. He stared at her, trying to figure out what she could possibly be thinking... probably that he was being way too forward and she was shocked by his sudden desire to kiss her. The problem was that it wasn't sudden at all though. Jude had always had it on his mind, but he constantly buried the thought away, thinking he was absolutely mad. He knew now that he wasn't mad, and that he actually liked Abbie. No one could make him think and feel the way she made did, but she had no idea about that aspect of Jude. He then thought of something even more problematic. On the other hand she could be thinking something even worse. Maybe she thought Jude only wanted her for the same reasons he wanted other girls. He liked to believe that she knew that wasn't the case, but it was hard to tell what really might be going on behind that pretty face of hers.
Abbie was extremely intelligent. Jude wished she'd be able to see that he wasn't as horrible and terrible as he was cracked up to be. At least, not when he was around Abbie. In front of his friends or around people he knew, he acted as though Abbie were the most irritating person on the planet, but the truth was the only person he was really frustrated with was himself. Perhaps she could see that behind his cold eyes, but he had always done such a good job of hating her that maybe by now it was impossible to see.
He stared down at the patch of grass in front of him upon hearing her blatant response. "I'm sorry. Maybe I shouldn't have..." Jude trailed off. He didn't even know what to say to her. This had never happened to him before. Jude wasn't used to being rejected by a girl, nor had he ever had a girl question the proposition to be kissed by him. This, like everything, was different with Abbie though. She wasn't just any girl he wanted to snog. There was more to it with her and Jude just couldn't help himself.
"Kidding?" he repeated looking up at her with his eyebrows slightly raised. She had scooted away from him slightly. He stared at her as she continued to speak. They had always 'hated' each other, but Jude always had these mixed feelings for Abbie. It was complicated and it didn't make much sense to him most of the time, but at the moment Jude never felt there was anything he wanted more than Abbie. She stood up now and moved toward the lake, Jude was confused. He couldn't tell whether she was mad at him, apprehensive, or still merely shocked by what he had said.
Jude stood up also, hearing her whisper something he couldn't completely comprehend, but it was bound to be something negative. He ran a hand through matted hair, then she turned to face him again. "You're the smartest witch I know, Abbie. Are you really all that surprised?" he asked her gently. He walked toward her then stopped in front of her and stared down in to her deep eyes. "Look, I didn't mean to be so... brash. But I don't feel like myself around you. And... and I think that's a good thing," Jude said. He reached up and brushed a piece of hair away from Abbie's eyes. Being his common confident self was harder than it normally was. He couldn't work his usual devilish charm on Abbie, she wasn't like anyone else.

Abbie blinked a few times as she saw him stand up to join her. Her stomach was lurching and, as he drew closer, she could feel her legs slowly dissolve into jelly. Once she had upset her dad and, as a joke, he threw a Jelly-Leg curse upon her for about five minutes. Abbie had never felt so miserable in her life, but her father was just laughing his head off. Of course, after she had been changed back, she thought it to be rather funny too and joined in on the hilarity. But, the horrible feeling of falling to the floor seemed to return back to her now and she no longer had that sense of laughter.
As Jude said, she was actually surprised. In all those silly muggle movies, the girl would always say that she 'knew all along'. That it was 'always there'. But Abbie was not one of them. The thought that he actually liked her back had never crossed her mind as a real accusation. It was usually just her child-like fantasies. But, now it was real. He had admitted to it in an off-like manner and was now ...complimenting her? Yes, she was rather talented in the art of Charm work, but never had she thought that Jude would notice.
Of course, there had been that time when Abbie called him a Pygmy Puff and he retorted with some response relating to fables. But, she instead flicked her wand causing him to levitate in air. Thinking back to the situation, Abbie believed that her next line was utterly stupid, but she had been fourteen at the time and was rather foolish. "When Pygmy Puffs can fly." she had spat, turning on her heel to the Great Hall. Some of her peers were grinning back at her, but she had distinctly recognized the assortment of girls staring her down as if in disbelief.
Now, it was completely different. She did not have any desires what-so-ever to have him flying into the air or to call him the name of any animal. Right now, her eyes could not seem to separate from his and it seemed as if his were doing exactly the same. Abbie just wanted to prove to herself that he was doing this just to get a kiss. She knew that somehow this was all just some big lie. Yet, her body would not move from it's position and it seemed as if her brain no longer has control over itself. His hand stroked over her hair and Abbie was positive that her entire sense of what is right and what is wrong had flown directly out of the Hogwarts grounds. Thoughts of their lips touching were beginning to immerse her head and Abbie did not want them to leave.
Without even trying to resist, Abbie leaned her head forward and gently placed her lips on top of his. It was such a wonderful feeling and she finally realized why all the girls at Hogwarts would skip class to do such a thing. It made you have so many emotions that it felt as if you were having none at all and even though time did not stop like some stories would predict, the time that was spent was well worth it. His breath smelled slightly of the cigarettes he had been smoking a while ago, but not so much that it was unattractive. Wait, did Abbie just think of Jude being attractive? She held back a rare smile and let her hand secretly slither to his neck. Though, after she did so, she let her lips slowly part and ever thought of happiness she had had quickly faded and the many thoughts of what just happened bombarded her mind. Her brain seemed to be working again.
She had fallen for him. She was just another girl in Jude's book. Abbie was no longer so innocent. She had kissed a Slytherin. She had kissed Jude. What would people think? What would happen to the world? Had it imploded now that Abbie had finally kissed a guy for the first time? Wait, she was sixteen and finally just got her first kiss. Oh no, what would Naida think if she found out? Would she never let Abbie live it down? She knew Abbie despised Jude and yet, here she was, kissing him. And what would happen to their relationship? The boundaries between enemy and relationship level has officially been broken. Had there ever been a barrier for your enemies and your love life?
Abbie could only come up with one solution. "Don't tell anybody." she whispered to him, finally noticing that her hand had been stroking his hair the entire time from where she had put it during their kiss. Her eyes bulged and she quickly jolted her hand down to her side. Her feet were beginning to shuffle once more and she looked to the ground. Abbie was officially nervous around Jude and it would probably never go back.

Jude was surprised to say the least, when he felt the touch of Abbie's soft lips against his. He thought that she (especially) would not be so easily swayed. Sure other girls dropped at his feet as if he were the King of England but not Abbie; which also made her more desirable. She never looked at Jude the way the other girls always did and he liked that. Just when Jude was moving forward more and rested a hand on her hip, Abbie's hand found its way to his neck and then she pulled away. He wished that she had lingered a little longer, but he supposed the situation was already awkward enough.
Jude licked the surface of his lips. On one hand, kissing Abbie was different because he found her to be more delicate and Jude was more gentle with her, but on the other hand this all seemed quite risky. Neither of them would be expected to be in the situation that they were in right now, but Abbie more so than Jude. There was a constant fear at the back of Jude's mind that told him she still didn't think his intentions were genuine. It wasn't exactly expected that she could forgive him for every terrible thing he had done to her or anyone she knew, but there was nothing Jude could really say or do about it. He was who he was and there was no way that would change. He just wished that she might eventually realize he could be different.
The sound of her voice whispered something that Jude had half anticipated. "Afraid I'll ruin your reputation are you?" he whispered back with small smirk. There was always going to be that cheekier element of Jude that never really left no matter how hard he tried. Her hand immediately dropped from his neck and Jude let go of her waist sensing her discomfort. He started to think about what would happen now that this had happened. How would they be toward each other from now on? Things would easily be more awkward than ever before.
"Alright, I won't tell anyone... That is, if you won't either," Jude said finally. If Abbie didn't want anyone to know about this, he was fine with that. It'd probably save him a lot of headache any way if his friends had found out. They would either high five him for having kissed yet another girl in school, or question him for the kind of girl that he had kissed. Jude tried not to think about any of that now. He stared down at Abbie who stared at the ground. She seemed to be becoming increasingly nervous than she had already been. "I think I just... complicated things between us," he muttered, stating the obvious. "Even more than they already were," Jude added. Everything that had happened seemed a blur, but he couldn't ignore the fact that it was a very good blur, and it probably wouldn't leave his thoughts for quite some time.

Abbie had to seriously hold back a smile when he retorted a sneaky come back that was expected to emerge from his mouth. Formerly those were almost humiliating and rather thought to be annoying. At some moments, Abbie couldn't wait to reply with such a foul remark she could think of and make him feel the worst that was humanly possible for a guy like Jude. Yet, now it was different. His sarcastic displays of speech were now mirrored with genuine appreciation from Abbie. She couldn't help but admire him and it was probably greatly reflected on the fact that they had just kissed.
Things would be different. And yes, she did want to keep it a secret for the main reason of succumbing under Jude's will just as all the other girls had. Abbie almost was disappointed in herself for doing so. Almost. She had been different. She had been the girl who had thought of Jude as such an idiot. She had been the one who rolled her eyes at the fawning females that admired him between classes. But, she was no longer that girl. Abbie was now the object of his affection just as all the other girls had been. And, secretly, she liked it.
"You sort of did." she admitted. A tinge of regret was sensed within her voice, but she chose to ignore it. How could so many things change in just a span of a few hours? How could Abbie go from the innocent girl who has never been kissed to the girl who kissed the worst Slytherin of them all? Even she was perplexed at this situation, but at the same was wanting more.
Abbie felt so wrong wanting to kiss him again, but she had never experienced something so wonderful as well as daring. It was such a great emotion and she could see why it was so popular among the students at Hogwarts. The feeling was exhilarating. But, the problem was still there. It was the person she was enjoying it with. Jude. He was so different from the person she imagined she'd be sharing this moment with. Her first kiss was supposed to be something so much more.
Abbie bit her lower lip and turned her head to look around the grounds. Nobody was here still and it looked like they had a good bit of time. But, oh no, Abbie wasn't thinking of that, was she? Ah, but she was. "But..." she said, looking to the ground for a minute, then to him. This was something she had never felt before and it filled her with so much adrenaline. She could really get used to this kissing deal. "I can deal with it." She surpressed a smile and immediatly she could feel her legs buckle beneath her.

Abbie sounded as if she almost wished she hadn't kissed him in the first place. Jude didn't want to believe that, but it was quite possible. She may have just kissed Jude spontaneously, and it really didn't mean anything to her, but Abbie didn't seem like the kind of person that would do things without thinking about them first. Regardless of how she felt, Jude couldn't help the way he was feeling, and all he could think about was Abbie.
Jude nodded at her response, then glanced around at the rest of the grounds. "Abbie, I know it's really hard for you to trust me but I don't think I've felt this way about anyone before," Jude admitted. His voice sounded nervous. Vulnerable, even. He looked up towards the sky as if it held all the answers then back to Abbie. He took a small step forward, wanting to kiss her again. It was hard for Jude to remember that Abbie probably wasn't as used to all this as he was, but he had a hard time refraining from kissing her. He felt as if she were the only thing in the world that mattered right now.
It was almost as if this was all just a made up fantasy for Jude. Maybe he'd wake up moments later and realize he had fallen asleep in transfiguration class again. Suddenly Jude felt as though this could all be gone in an instant. He wasn't dreaming, but the possibility of that made him want to make whatever time they had left last forever. He placed his hand on the side of her face and let his thumb pass over her cheek before he leaned in and kissed her again. This time it lasted a little longer. When he pulled away he whispered something only she could hear. It didn't make a difference considering the grounds were empty aside from the few prefects patrolling but they were a far distance away by the castle doors. "I know you're scared, but I think its only because you might want to be with me too," he said quietly. His heart started to race a little faster.
Jude was making assumptions, but Jude hoped more than anything that she shared at least an inkling of what he felt about her. His gut feeling told him she did, but Jude's gut feeling had also told him to do things that weren't exactly wise sometimes. In fifth year he dove of his broom in a quidditch match to make a save. He had saved the quaffle, but at the price of a broken arm. So his intuition wasn't always right.

She stood there like a stone. Formerly Abbie was the happiest thing alive and now she was probably the most nervous thing alive. Even if a Hungarian Horntail were to strike at her right now she would still probably not budge from her position. The blow of what Jude had just said hit her like what that dragon might have done to her if it were present. She didn't even know if she was conscious right now from how long she had gone without blinking. Her eyes seemed to be set on him and only him at the moment and it didn't look like that would change anytime soon.
He admitted it. There were no more hints or questions about it. He liked her. And, not only that, but Abbie was not just 'one of those girls'. He felt different around her. Something he's never felt before. Unfortunately, Abbie could not say the same for she had never been this close to a boy. She could not distinguish between what was like and lust. Although she kept staring at him and trying to conceive an answer, the only things bombarding her mind were the thoughts of kissing him again. The soft touch of his lips and the warmth it immediately spread through your body. Nothing in the entire universe could matter while she was kissing him and all thoughts of anything else seemed to be thrown out the door. Quidditch, fear of stairs... heck! even Charms and Transfiguration. Even her hidden ego.
But then it happened again. Abbie could feel it coming. He slowly leaned forward to stroke her cheek and they were kissing once more. It was a little like how she felt when she had discovered that she had received highest marks on her Charms exam. It was a little like how she felt when she had been accepted on to the Hufflepuff quidditch team back in her second year. It was even a little like how she felt when she had triumphed over walking down the terrifying stairway in the library corridor. Except, it seemed like a whole lot more than that. It was a feeling of superiority. Abbie felt like she could do anything. Heck, if she were mad at Jude right now, she felt like she had the power to give him a good slap across the face- which she wouldn't dare do before. Of course, she would not do it right now either, but she could if she really wanted to. Her heart was pumped with fulfillment.
When they pulled apart, Abbie wished it would not have ended, but they were still rather close, so she was content. Jude whispered something into her ear making her hair stand up. She could feel the tiny goosebumps begin the form on her arm and she knew that what he had said was unmistakably true. Of course, still having her stroke of pride from the kiss, she wasn't sure whether she wanted to admit it. Now that she had some courage, of which she usually lacked, she almost wanted to tell him that it would never work. But, even that kiss could give her that much courage. Abbie was now too involved to admit that they shared no feelings. She liked him too much.
"Geez, Jude," Abbie sighed, pulling herself away just enough to stare at him again. Although, she was still rather close and her body still remained in an area within reach of Jude. "You're right. This is weird. This is scary," she hated admitting her weakness, but he already knew it anyway, "In fact, the last person I expected my first kiss to be with was you." Right as that came out of her mouth, she was thoroughly embarrassed, but pressed on as if it had never happened. "But, it's kinda nice, I suppose. I mean..." she was back to the stage of not finding words again, "You...you're different than...than I thought." She smiled and bravely stepped forward so that she was extremely close to him once more.
With a big sigh, she had one ounce of bravery left from the last kiss and used it to start up another one. Her arms wrapped around his neck and she stood on her tip-toes to reach his mouth. Abbie couldn't help how short she was, but it made the situation more special in an odd sort of way.

Jude couldn't believe how honest he had been, and furthermore how long he had been honest for. He didn't think there was ever a time when he had really told someone what he had truly been thinking. With Jude, everything was always so forced and unnatural, but for the first time in his life he felt absolute. Nothing had ever seemed more right before, but at the same time felt a little wrong too. Jude was used to bogus girls that never meant anything to him, but this change (in his opinion) was a good one.
He had admitted everything now and there was nothing left to hide behind. He couldn't hide behind their constant bickering, or the glances he'd secretly convey to Abbie in the hallways. There was none of that left now, but Jude wondered if that would continue after tonight. He supposed it would. He and Abbie were just too different, too much of opposites. Jude rather liked that fact, but it probably wouldn't sit well with anyone else in school, which is the reason they both agreed to not say anything about their encounter in the first place.
For some reason as Abbie spoke again Jude started to feel a little guilty. "Sorry..." was all he could manage to mutter. This had been her first kiss, and it was with Jude of all people. He realized he was guilty because he had destroyed any idea she might have had for a first kiss. He was by no means the 'ideal guy'. Not even close. Jude was simply a means of girls' guilty pleasure. He wasn't too fond of that role anymore though. Abbie had definitely changed his mind about that easily. The last part of what she had to say made Jude feel slightly better though. He had been different after all. Even with the constant cruel mind set that was drilled in to his head since birth, Jude could be different... He liked the way that sounded and smiled broadly.
Before he knew it Abbie was kissing him again. Jude wrapped his arms around her waist. He was a little less hesitant this time. Everything seemed rather against the rules and sneaky, which was absolutely nothing like Abbie. Jude was struck with a thought; if he was changing for the better, was Abbie changing for the worst? He hated the thought of turning her in to the person he was, but he convinced himself that could never happen. Abbie was too smart, too confident with the person that she already was to change now. Jude deepened the kiss a little and rested on hand on the small of her back. He desperately wished they wouldn't be caught by any Prefects now. Everything had been far too perfect, but all good things came to an end, and Jude feared that their end would soon approach.

Abbie was really enjoying their intimate moment, when she suddenly heard a rustling in a bush. Almost immediately, she jerked away from him and looked around frantically. Where had it come from? Her eyes followed their instincts and stared at the bushes from which she had formerly been. Her eyes were not blinking and she continued to stare at it for any signs of movement like some deer stuck in the middle of a road. Squinting, she looked through the branches and saw that there was nobody present. Probably somebody's lost rat or something.
Abbie sighed, looking up at him with longing eyes, and then pulling herself away from him. She was filled with regret in doing so, but knew it was for the best. Abbie was suddenly filled with the fear of getting caught once more. If there, in fact, had been somebody in that bush then they were probably already filled with enough information to last a lifetime, but she couldn't care. She knew that if she were to be caught out of bed her entire life at Hogwarts would end. No more Quidditch. That would be enough to make her go daffy. She just couldn't risk it anymore than she already had.
Stepping closer to the lake and turning her back on Jude, she stared out into the distance for any sign of the rising sun. She could see it was getting a little bit lighter outside, but not by much. And although she tried her best to concentrate on how much time they had left for it to arrive, Abbie couldn't keep her mind off of what would happen next. At least between her and Jude. They couldn't possibly keep it a secret. Abbie would secretly be too happy to have it kept to herself for even a day. And she knew that they would not find much time to see each other unless skipping classes was involved in the equation. Abbie didn't know whether she could give up such a joy as classes.
"So..." She sighed, "What do we do?" Abbie turned around to face him with a lop-sided smile. She knew it couldn't possibly work, but if they brain-stormed enough it just might. Even as she looked at Jude, she had the inner urge to just snog her brains out. Although, she thought it also might be best to keep that bit of information to herself.
If the information that her and Jude were dating got out, then it would be total chaos. Well... what exactly were they doing anyway? This had not exactly been a date. All they did was kiss and Jude seemed to do that to girls all the time. The fact of what they were had yet to be specified and Abbie was quite curious. She blinked a few times and then cocked her head before blurting out, "Are we going to keep this up or... is this just for tonight?" At the last part, she felt rather violated after saying it and hoped to goodness that it wouldn't be the case. She could hate to have that on her conscious.

Jude followed her gaze to the bush, and he assumed his worst fears had been realized. He recognized that he too could see the rustling of the bushes. As she looked back up to him, Jude shifted his eyes away from the bushes and back to Abbie. She moved away from him, and further toward the lake. Jude glanced around the grounds, a little paranoid now. He rubbed the back of his shaggy blonde head before deciding he was over reacting and there wasn't anyone around.
He looked back to her again as she spoke and sighed heavily. Jude knew this was coming. There really wasn't any clear answer to her question. Jude wasn't the brightest apple in the bunch, but he had managed to figure his way out of most situations he wound up in. Even the especially difficult ones, like being caught stuffing dungbombs in to Mr. Filch's coat one evening. That had been an easier predicament to lie his way out of and sneak around than the one he was now presented with. Jude didn't really know what to say. The always coming up with an idea Jude Morte was speechless.
He tried to weigh his options, but they weren't that extensive. They could keep it a secret or not. Both were pretty much equally impossible. Scratching his head again Jude's stare fell upon the slightly rising sun. He stared at it, squinting slightly as he thought. Jude looked back to Abbie when she spoke again. His brow furrowed sympathetically before he replied. "Abbie I don't want this to be just for tonight. I---" Jude admitted, but Before he could continue on he heard the same rustle from the bushes again. Jude knew he wasn't imagining things, there simply had to be something in that bush.
He turned around completely now to look toward the bush. It ruffled slightly but then became completely still as if it knew Jude were staring at it. At an incredibly slow pace, he approached it. His wand was within reach in his pocket but he didn't snatch it just yet. Peering in to the bush, he wished with all his might that it wouldn't be someone to catch him, but unfortunately his fears had been realized. In a matter of seconds a spell shot out from the bush which Jude quickly deflected by immediately grabbing his wand and giving it a mere flick. Who would possibly dare to hex Jude Morte? he thought concededly to himself. Unless... it was prefect.
"Hah!" came a voice, as a tall and ginger haired Prefect stepped out from the shrubbery. He was adorned in Ravenclaw robes with his prefect's badge gleaming proudly. Jude rolled his eyes. He knew this particular prefect very well. They had various encounters and the Ravenclaw seventh year had a knack for catching Jude when he was breaking the rules. "Morte, morte, morte...Think you'd get away with sneaking around so la--" the prefect couldn't finish his sentence as Jude interrupted. "Furnunculus!" he said, aiming his wand at the Prefect. The boy looked down at himself to see a load of painful boils beginning to surface on his skin. He knew that this particular prefect would spend all his time preparing a lecture for Jude, that he'd be able to jinx him before he had the chance to retaliate. Jude smiled, content with the results of his spell and rushed back to Abbie.
"That won't last very long," he said to Abbie in a hurry. "We need to get back to the castle before he alerts the rest of those block heads..." Jude glanced back at the Ravenclaw who was now doing a sort of frantic dance due to the pain of the boils. Jude never understood how that boy became a Ravenclaw. Ravenclaws were supposed to be smart, not smart-alecs who think they know everything. Shaking the thought away he turned back to Abbie. "Can you trust me?" he asked hopefully. Jude would definitely need Abbie's cooperation if they were going to get away with sneaking out late.

There it was. The sun rise. But, only for a short period of time, as it would seem. For now, though, as she looked at it, it seemed like so much less than she would have imagined. She expected something better- maybe shots of blue streaking across the sky, maybe some falling stars... something to make it seem more dramatic than it was. Even fireworks might have increased the entire effect, but no. The sky was just slowly filling with purple and pinkish tones. Yes, they were reflected on the lake's surface and, if you had never seen a sun rise at all, then this might seem quite extraordinary. But, Abbie lived near a lake at her own home and she could see this any day of the summer. She just expected it to be better at Hogwarts. Something magical.
At least Abbie had something else to occupy her from her utter disappointment for she could hear from afar the words exiting Jude's mouth. He didn't want this to be a one-night deal. This was now officially real. There were no more jokes and there were no more games involved. Abbie could not believe it, but she was happy. That is, until she heard him stop mid sentence. Quirking an eyebrow, she turned around to see what had made him suddenly stop. She was terrified when she found him occupied with a bush. It was not her imagination. Somebody was actually there.
Abbie could feel her heart stop. She could feel her entire soul sink to the ground as if she were dying and helpless. She had been caught. And not only by a prefect, but him. She knew him. Abbie used to be friends with him until he formed an ego once receiving his coveted Prefect badge. Every day it was prefect this, prefect that. For a while it was fine hearing ridiculous stories of roaming students, but the fun was quickly worn out. Occasionally he would sport the badge even during the holidays when it had no significance. It was then Abbie slowly stopped talking to him. It seemed like she wasn't the only one who had a grudge against him, though.
She gasped after Jude rudely interrupted the individual with a hex. She had expected something from the spunky teen, but nothing like a hex. Maybe a spell, maybe even a punch in the nose, but Abbie was not so sure she felt confident in getting out of this when Jude was busy sparking up fires with everything in sight. Although, not like Abbie minded when he had sparked up a fire with her, anyway. But, the fact still remained. He had injured a prefect.
Jude came rushing to her side, talking so fast that Abbie had to concentrate in order to hear his words. She recalled Jude stating that the prefects were 'blockheads' which ultimately made her giggle, but she tried to stifle them with her hand pressed gently to her mouth. As if nothing else in this situation had made it all the more shocking, it was what he said next that made her even more giddy. 'Can you trust me'? Abbie stood there for a second, glancing to the prefect, then to Jude and quietly nodded as if unsure. But, she knew deep inside her that there was not one bit of doubt residing. She knew she trusted him.
Feeling more and more convinced, she nodded her head in a more apparent way and started to high tail it wherever he wished to go. In order to ease her nerves, she immediately grabbed his hand. Abbie had no idea where a good place would be to go. At first she assumed that the common room would be most ideal, but somehow with the way Jude asked if he trusted her, she wasn't sure that was where they were going. And yet, she had been wrong many times about Jude tonight.
