Open to anybody. Although, I would love multiple people! Abbie roamed the hallways aimlessly, trying to find something to do before classes started. At first she thought that maybe visiting the Astronomy Tower would be a great idea, but when she realized how many stairs that she would have to take in order to do such a task, she quickly dropped the subject and continued to saunter through the hallways. It was a very daunting task trying to find a place to rest yourself until classes started. Heck, even before breakfast. Yes, it was that early. Last night Abbie had lacked any sleep imaginable (which was probably a terrible idea considering it was only the second day of school).
Yet, it was not entirely her fault that she lacked sleep. She had tried to close her eyes the night before, but nothing seemed to be working. It was him that she had been thinking about. Abbie had the cleverest idea to go see the sunset last night and she had gotten much more than she had bargained for. Of course, not that she was complaining. If what she got in return from a lack of sleep was him, then she would be just fine. The only thing was that after their little romp among the grounds, she couldn't stop thinking about him. Everywhere she went, she wished he would be there. And that is precisely why she got up unusually early this morning.
Right when seven o'clock strolled around, Abbie leapt out of her four posted bed and immediately got ready for the day. Now, here she was, being one of the only students roaming the hallway with nothing to do. She had spoken to a few teachers this morning, but nothing else had really happened. The library didn't open until eight, so Abbie had been trying to occupy herself until then. She tried going out to the Quidditch Pitch, but Abbie refused to get sweaty before school started. So, once the library doors opened, Abbie went rushing down the corridor and into the quiet area.
Abbie looked around the seemingly empty library before beginning to walk down the rows. She kept on walking upon she saw one of the more secluded aisles in the very back of the library. Sighing, Abbie sat herself down on the floor. Unfortunately, as she turned around to grab a book so that she could find some way to pass the time, she immediatly noticed that she was in the section noted 'Birthing Giants' which suddenly gave the urge to hurl. She decided it might be best to just sit here and see if she could get a little nap before heading off to the Great Hall for breakfast. Although, it was hard to even try and think of sleeping when the thought of him kept roaming her mind. She would see him at breakfast and the butterflies in her stomach were going crazy just thinking of such a thing.
Being the little dreaming school girl that she was, Abbie felt as if she had the entire situation planned out in her head. She would enter, sit down at her table laughing with all of her friends, and across the hall he would see her and flash that smile- the smile that made Abbie's entire body melt at just the sight of it. And, as if the entire world revolved around her, time would stop and Abbie would smile back at him. Of course, later they would kiss the night away in the Astronomy Tower. But, of course, they would have to do something about those stupid stairs. Abbie shook her head and sighed. It was always the stairs that ruined her fantasies...

The tick, tick, tick of an alarm clock sounded off in the Gryffindor dormitory, as five girls popped their eyes open and turned to the girl responsible. Her cheeks could be seen, flushed, even through the darkness of the room, and the noise quickly stopped as she slammered her hand down to turn it off. Seven o'clock flashed bright red from the digital clock, and the moans of tired students echoed in between the beds and other furniture. "Turn it off!", some said, "Seven o'clock!? Oh gnooo!" Naida's eyes opened more slowly than the others. Damn alarm clock, she muttered, twisting off of her top bunk and grabbing hold of the ladder than led down. When she was finally on the ground, the girl grabbed the covers of the girl who owned the alarm clock, and threw them ontop of her head. Muffled sounds came from under the covers, but no feelings were expressed to the point where Naida was able to hear it.
After showering, and getting dressed, Nai's own clock read seven-twenty, and she walked out into the main corridor of sleeping quarters. In her mind, there was absolutely know logical reason that she should be up this early; but with Tonya allowing her clock to whine and make so much noise so early in the morning, there was no way that she would be able to go back to sleep. Few other people were in the hallways at this hour; two boys, and one other girl were the only ones that her hazel eyes found. It was much, much too early for breakfast to be served, and so Naida decided that there would be nothing else to do than to go searching for someone to talk to. Even she, girl of stone-heart and fearless attitude, didn't want to go to the Forbidden Forest today and attempt contacting anything today, not today. It was too foggy outside, and besides, it had been only days when she had stood outside with Mikey Lynch and Tiger Thomas, speaking to her scaly friends.
A loud, banging noise resided down the hallway, and the Gryffindor stretched her neck around one corner, holding onto it with her hands, to see what its source had been. The two doors of the Main Library swung open, on some magical time clock that automatically invited any students who wanted to get in some extra 'studying time' before the main classes began. Naida didn't have any classes until eight-thirty, and so she knew she might be able to find someone else that was up this early, and willing to put up with her. Okay, she may not be the most social girl in the deep blue room, but at least some people had the decency to see how she really acted, and not what was rumored around Hogwarts. Past the tens of tens of rows filled with books, a lighted, silent area came into view, with a familiar face sitting in the middle of one of the aisles. A confused smile spread across Naida's face as she stood at the lower end of the row, hands on her hips.
"Now what do you think you're doing in my library?"
She spoke with a grin, half-heartedly waving to her known friend while walking closer to her. Abbie Chalk, a happy, more social individual than herself, sat in between the book shelves, looking just as bored as she was. "You're definetly up early", when Naida spoke, a thought sprouted in her brain. Her hair was completely flat, not wavy and curled like she usually did it up. Appearance wasn't really important to her, especially her own; but hey, there was nothing wrong with trying to look better on a daily basis. This was the first day in a while, probably since the time she had first come home from her sixth year at Hogwarts, that she had just woke up and left her hair flat, the way it was. Shrugging off her thought, Naida rolled her eyes to her own mind, and twirled a small strand of her hair insecurely. She sat down beside Abbie, leaning her head against the lowest shelf. Her robe was held in her hands, tank top and knee-hole jeans exposed. It wasn't really against the rules to have her uniform off; not before school started.

Abbie sighed, pulling her legs up closer to her chest as if to get comfortable and to ease her own butterflies. She was anticipating breakfast so much that she thought that maybe she wouldn't be able to eat breakfast. Even when Abbie knew they would be serving her favorite- butter biscuits and bacon. Such a funny thing anxiety. Abbie couldn't even believe that she was up this early. Just because of a simple event she couldn't sleep now? What had gotten into her? If all relationships were like this then she would definitely be in for the ride of her life. Why hadn't any girls mentioned this to her?
Abbie was almost alarmed when she heard the floor beneath her creak. Her head swiveled to the direction of where it sounded and she lifted an eyebrow curiously. The last thing she expected was for somebody to be in her section of the library. Abbie always retreated in the back area when she needed a quiet time (when the Quidditch Pitch was not already occupied). She leaned to the right a little as if to try and glance at who could be coming. Of course, she should have imagined it would be Naida. Naida Yeni was a seventh year Gryffindor and one of Abbie's closest mates. It would only be fit that Naida would come back here as well. Great minds often think alike and Abbie and Naida were definitely like one person split into two completely separate personalities.
The Hufflepuff girl laughed a little (although it sounded more like a giggle, but that was how Abbie laughed) and looked up at Naida. "Your library? Last time I checked it was Hogwarts' library, but I could be wrong." Abbie said jokingly as she smiled up at her and scooted slightly to the side as if to offer space for Naida to sit next to her. Although there was plenty of room available, it seemed like a nice gesture. Abbie had an odd bond with Naida. It was a difficult relationship. They were the best of friends, but at times she didn't exactly feel close to Naida. There was always some type of barrier. Perhaps it was because Naida always got the boys or perhaps it was because Abbie had a bubbly-type persona and Naida could be cold when she felt worthy of doing so.
When Naida asked why Abbie was up early, it also sent her into a defense type mood. She had every intention of keeping quiet about her and the boy she so longingly wished to see. She almost felt violated that Naida would even go into such a subject. Of course, she was all coming from the inner-female of Abbie. Girls could be defensive monsters and, with Abbie, the monster didn't emerge often. A very rare occurrence, really. "Well, why are you up early? It obviously isn't that strange." Abbie didn't sound offended, but rather curious. She tried to hide her inner beast and was succeeding rather well at it. Such a curious thing females.

Ah, she's always the one to point out the obvious, no matter if both of us know its just a bother joke. She rolled her eyes upward, to the shelves of books that were staked high upon the shelves. Before replying, the Gryffindor student picked up a 'Dark Arts and Mystical Magic' novel, flipping through it to a column of video playthrough. It showed an old wizard, obviously not a teacher of any sort coming from Hogwarts, dressed in a long purple-tinted robe, deep-brown wand in hand. His eyes were wide and looking straightforward, the book giving the sight view of the wizard himself. A large box jumped up and about, barely able to come off the ground, but coming up just enough to make a large, clanging thud in the library floor. Noone else was around, as it was zoomed in on; the label read, Imanuifus . Nocha. Wrinkling her eyebrows, Naida shut the book just as the video showed the wizard raising his wand and reciting the words indicated on the box. Remind me to never say that phrase in Charms classs..
"Oh trust me, Abbie, I don't physically want to be up this early; that..questionable roomate of mine, you know, the one with the pigtails and questionable taste of likings? She allowed her alarm clock to yell in the ears of everyone in my dormitory, which woke me up around seven."
Her eyes grew cold as she pretended to flick an imaginary person off of her palm, them falling to the ground. A grin came to her face, as she nodded her head in no -real replliance to anything, but just a satisfactory sort of thing. The book that she still held had a rough look to it; being brown in color, and the edges tattered and worn. It was as if noone had taken it off the shelves in quite a long time, probably not wanting to look at it because of its sheer mass in number of pages to flick through. Naida didn't really like to read either, but when it came up to do with something about reptilians, black arts, or dark magic, her pet peeves were met, and she would usually slip her eyes upon it.
"I haven't really seen you around Hogwarts lately, what you been up to? Any teacher crushes...even boys or closer friends, perhaps?"
Naida quirked her eyes at her, grinning and watching her intently. Abbie Chalk had never been one to amuse herself with boys or crushes. Sure, what girl doesn't have a childhood crush or a "long lost love" that is way out of your league, but they still want at'em? None. Everyone does, but with Naida being more "into" the whole male relationship thing [despite her own disliking of intimate relationships], it was a wonder to her if her long lived friend had actually found a boyfriend of her very own. If so, good for her, if not...well, she needed to get going on the whole thing.
"Not to be nosy and all that, just wondering, chickie."

Abbie stared at Naida for a few seconds after the question was asked. Of course, Naida knew her all too well and knew that she was probably uncomfortable with such a personal question, so that triggered Naida's immediate remark on how she was just curious. Oh, but of course! If anything this Gryffindor was curious. She always had been. Yes, yes, Naida had always claimed Abbie to be the nosy one, but Abbie knew better than to succumb to such gossip. Naida was the one with all the juicy news. She knew who was dating who, why, where it happened and just about everything else.
Yet, Abbie felt rebellious. Not only had she made a commitment to say nothing about her current relationship with him, but as she looked at Naida, she wasn't sure she wanted her to know. For the first time Abbie wanted to know something that Naida didn't. For some reason, she felt as if it gave her power. Although, how could it? Something that Naida didn't know did not make her all the less of a powerful person. She was still a goddess among students and always would be. Nothing could change that type of power. It was that type of power Abbie had always slightly admired in Naida.
Still- the fact remained. Abbie couldn't let it slip about her and him. She just wouldn't. Hardly any of it had to do with Naida any way. She had told him that he was to tell nobody and she couldn't be a hypocrite and break a promise she had hoped he would keep. It would be too bad. Abbie was not a bad person. She never had been. Messing that pure reputation up would be just terrible. So terrible that she know she couldn't live with herself. Abbie was just that mental when it came to being a 'good kid'.
"Well, not really." she said, adverting her gaze to the row of books in front of her. Abbie couldn't bear to not tell the truth and look Naida in the eyes at the same time. Besides, she wasn't exactly lying. She had said 'not really'. That could mean anything! Of course, Abbie had a hard time admitting to anything as secret as a crush. Though, truthfully, Abbie had a few crushes this year. Tory was one. She had seem him on the train ride to Hogwarts and he was absolutely adorable.
His hair had grown out, he had definitely grown up from being a child, and his eyes were just are beautiful as they always had been. They weren't anything special, but they had always attracted Abbie. Even when she was a eleven all those years ago. Of course, there had also been Professor Emerick. He was particularly cute. But, not in the 'oh he's so hot' manner. He was a gentleman above all gentlemen- even if he was a little snappy at times. But, still, if only Abbie was older. Wait, no! How disgusting. Abbie shook her head at such thoughts and shuffled her body into a more comfortable position. The one she had been in had immediately made her feel very awkward.
"So, what about you? You must already have at least two guys interested already." Abbie knew it would be true. Every year some new kid would approach her. Three years ago a first year had tried his luck. Abbie couldn't help but hold back a laugh every time she saw that boy.

///I'm not trying to mess with you and Jude [the member] 's plots; you know how Naida is...bringing up the random topics of her life. She doesn't know about Abbie and him, just mentioning what happed in the 'shopping' thread. Just to let you know before any troubles were stirred up./// "Oh god, don't even go there. That old bag Tory Bloom tried, and I was hit on like a thousand times before the year started by Ju-de Mor-te! Can you-"
A librarian shushed her from across the way, raising a finger to her mouth Naida smiled and rolled her eyes when the older lady passed by. She was always trying to get people to be the precous little angels that the last group of 7th years had been. Abbie acted like she was just as old as she, most of the time; even though there would always be that one year difference between the two. Oh well, didn't really matter anyway, right?
"Hm. Anyway. Can you believe that? Tory Bloom tried to make his moves on mo-wah!"
Dramatically, she brought her hand to her chest, with a cheeky grin upon her face and a 'Ms. Queen Almighty' look about her. A 'just kidding', humourous laugh followed, as Naida shrugged and folded her knees up to her chest, leaning her elbows, criss-crossed, ontop of them. Silence was one thing that she couldn't stand, and since her friend didn't seem to be all that well, because she kept shifting and avoiding her eyes uneasily, the Gryffindor decided to try to strike up her own conversation. Abbie wouldn't care about her moments in the woods, maybe...but probably not. There was always the chance that she would go rat it out to the Headmaster, or one of the teachers they both had this year. Another topic could be the prank she played on the 1st year in Madaam Malkin's clothing shop for all occasions, but Naida would probably get scolded by her friend for talking about that.
The last thing she could think of, was the letter she had gotten from her sister one week to the prior. It had been scratchy, looked old, like she had written it many months days before but forgotten to send the parcel to Naida in Hogwarts. And even when she read the words, it spoke of 'Today' being late summer; showing obviously that Daniella had not cared about when she sent it, just that she had the sympathy to actually do so.
"You know...my sister wrote me a letter the other day. She was all like, 'Oh Naida, how dooo you do it?! You managed to make all 6 years of Hogwarts without a flick on the wrist.' Daniella even told me how proud she was of me and that she wuvy-wuv-wuved me all so much. Please, you and I both know how schitzo that girl is. I mean, one moment she loves me and the next...she takes my dad's side and is all like, "You need to focus more."
Naida wagged her finger in her own face, twisting her face into crazy motions she slapped her thigh with a quiet giggle before looking over to Abbie. She seemed even more uncomfortable, so Naida quickly stopped her antics. What was wrong with her?
"Uh...hello? You okay?"

out of character Scruffy's got her muuuse baccck!
in character Naida had always talked fast. It had just been a trait of her's that Abbie had always found funny. Others, maybe annoying, but when Naida used her hands to express her feelings it made Abbie laugh at herself. Besides, being the gossip queen that she was, Abbie was being informed and entertained at the exact same time. It was like two amazing things for the price of one. Of course, Naida always had a knack for flashing a grin or a smirk every so often when she had the courtesy to take a breath between sentences (although, it didn't occur often, really).
Abbie was actually having a good time with her best friend. That might seem rather harsh, but it was all too true. Most of the time when they were together they would fight about stupid things. Abbie could remember one fight they had about soap in her third year. Naida liked one brand and Abbie liked another. They even had stupid little tests where they would slide the soap down the corridor to see which soap could go the farthest. It really hurt Abbie when Naida had won too- that was the kicker. It was soap! But, the feelings had a lot more to do with soap. It was principle of the situation. Naida had been right. She always was.
This time spent with Naida was sort of rare among all the other occasions. Of course, just as it had began, it ended. He flirted with her. No, even worse, he hit on her more than once. Abbie kept looking at Naida as if she were paying attention (and was doing a pretty good job at showing no emotion), but her mind was completely elsewhere. All that stuff he had said at the lake... had that been false? All the stuff about how she was different... was that even true? Maybe he was being nice to her in order to get Naida. It had happened before.
It had been Jim. In Abbie's fourth year she thought she was practically in love with Jim. He was one year above Naida and two above Abbie. Abbie met him through Naida. But, Naida disliked him so much. Abbie adored him. He was a very nice guy and really genuine. He would open doors for you, study with you, even help you with your Quidditch. And one day Abbie's dream came true. He started opening doors for her, studying with her, and helping her on her Quidditch moves. Abbie was in heaven for only two days.
On the third morning, he finally approached her asking very curious questions about Naida- what is her favorite food, her favorite drink, her favorite flower. Abbie then realized how much of a fraud he was. She hexed him- as she would usually do to somebody such as him. After that, Abbie tried her best to avoid all questions about him from Naida. She was wondering why Jim and Abbie had stopped hanging around each other. But, Naida was pretty smart. She figured it out and afterward she hit him in the crotch and left him on the floor. Naida had always been a good friend. She had always been there for Abbie.
But, now it was different. Abbie was dating him. Well, it wasn't exactly official, but they had kissed. And multiple times! That accounted for something, right? Of course it did! Abbie was suddenly kicked out of her own memory lane and to the sound of Naida asking her if she was all right. She shook her head and looked up at Naida with a forced smile (all the real ones were gone from her mind at the moment). "Yea, yea, I'm fine." She tried desperately to change the subject by remembering the real reason she woke up this early.
Breakfast had to be soon now. "When does breakfast start?" she asked. But, of course Abbie knew. She had come in here about eight o'clock and breakfast started at eight thirty. Maybe it was about time to leave, now. But, Abbie looked at the clock it was only eight sixteen. Fourteen more minutes to go. Abbie's stomach flipped. She would see him there. In fourteen minutes. The anticipation was killing her.

//Can we just move this thread to the other, saying they walked to class together after the "bell rang"? I have like no muse to reply, since it will pretty much be the same thing we put in the other thread, in the Great Hall..-cheeky grin-.
Plus, I'm anxious to start that other thread. XDD//
