Due to the fact that this is an optional class, this one is open to all houses and all years.
Catherine, better known as Cat to her fellow teachers or Professor Spyro to her students, fished a key from her pocket and inserted it into the old fashioned lock above her head. The door swung downwards and she climbed up, taking a deep breath of the air as she did so. Her room, much unlike some Divination Teacher's, was clean and airy, she felt like students learned better in an open enviroment. The windows were opened to reveal a clear view of the Lake far below, as well as some of the Forest. The desks amongst the room were in groups of four, a stack of books sat on her desk, ready to be distributed to the kids as they came in. Sure, she had given them a book on their supply list. But she liked this book much, much better, and had only found it after the fact that the letters had been sent out.
She set her shoulder bag down on her desk chair and pushed what hair had escaped her long, smooth braid behin her ear. Her bright blue eyes narrowed as she studied the room for another few seconds. It had been ages since she had been in a learning enviroment herself...but that was when she had been the student, not the teacher. Now, she was nervous. What if the kids didn't like her? What if she taught them incorrectly? Nervously, she smoothed her black tweed skirt, knee length, and tapped her foot, which was encased in a black flat. Her sweater was blue, almost the exact color of her eyes, and seemed to highlight them rather then over shadow them. She took a deep breath and decided to busy herself with some pre-class tasks.
She grabbed a few books off the stack and began setting one on each desk in the room. She finished that shortly, looked around, and spotted her crystal ball. It wouldn't hurt to take a look and see what her students were to be like, would it? After all she was just doing her job, seeing what the future itself held and all. She stepped over to it, as it rested on a side table, and took a deep breath, this time for cleansing purposes. After a few moments her pupils became larger, giving her an almost trance like appearance. Images wound around in the crystal ball, but she no longer needed it. She was having a real vision, one where only your mind projected the images. As a seer, these were not uncommon for her....but that didn't make them any easier to control.
The classroom was full, in her vision. More people then she thought would show up had shown up. Amongst the kids, she spotted a few familiar faces, but none that she had talked to all too much. They seemed eager, which was odd, only a select few students ever truly enjoyed this class. She herself had been one of the few back in her years. She herself was opening a book on her desk, and instructing the students to do the same. She looked out across them and smiled herself, genuinely, something she hadn't felt happen for a long while. She smiled again before instructing the class with some directions from the page. The vision faded out slowly from there....
She blinked a few times as she was returned to the present, and shook her head slightly, before turning. She could hear footsteps on the stairs leading to her classroom, it was nearly time for the first class of her year. She had opened this particular one to anyone and everyone. From there, she would narrow down the group into different sub-groups, in hope to work individually with some of the students.
