ABOUT THE CHARACTER Name: Dorian Lee Stratford Age: 14 Gender: Male Year: 4th Celebrity: Solomon Olds (Soul Glow Activatur, Lead signer of Family Force 5)
Facial Properties: Dorian’s face is a oval shape, but not without it’s fine points and sharp edges. He has dark brown eyes, hazel green in the proper lighting. His lips are thin, and look a tad bit pursed. His habit of crooking his eyebrows balances this out. His skin is fair and clean, due to his gleaned understanding of hygiene and cosmetics from his younger brother. Another tribute to his brother’s skill, Dorian’s learned to give his hair a light wispy, but styled, look. It’s naturally dark brown, to match his eyes, and reached down to his chin in length. Physique: Dorain is lean but not willow thin. If anything, he can be compared to a once-starved ally cat whose gradually put on enough weight to be considered healthy. Indeed, he has an almost catlike grace, which is something he is none to proud of. His height follows suit. He’s not short, but he’s not quite average either. He’s shorter than most the guys he knows and around the same height of most the girls. He’s not built for strength, but rather for agility.
Personality: If you first saw Dorian, you’d think something along the lines of somber and uncaring. He can be that way, but the majority of the time he’s more energetic than anyone could fathom. There’s always some witty comment on the tip of his tongue, and flippant statements waiting in line. But for all Dorian’s tomfoolery, he holds a kind of elegance. Curses are too dirty for his lips, and truly cruel mockery too foul for him to behold. Dorian likes to be best friends with everyone, and while he’ll divulge enough in secret to make them believe he trusts them, only he knows his own mind. He doesn’t intend to exclude others, but Dorian has been reserved for the majority of his life, and breaking that habit would be difficult.
But around other people, Dorian is among the most random of people. He does crazy things, says equally inane things, and all the while just to get a laugh. Dorian is always cheery, and whether its false or not, as he’s well adept at hiding it. Most of the time, Dorian is inwardly pessimistical. Dorian also likes to take charge, but he can be a bit pushy and irritating when things don’t go his way. And most irritating of all, his way is usually the opposite of whatever way his step-father wants him to go. No, he doesn’t take things all the way, but he pushes the limits. Dorian is a daredevil, and if he’s starved enough, he’ll do almost anything to get a little attention.
Dorian is the most impatient person you’ll ever meet. He likes to do things quickly, but this mostly goes towards emotional impatience. He’s quick to snap at his family, and he’s very forward with others. In this case, he’s not afraid to tell people that he enjoys their company, but incredibly hesitant to inform them that he loathes everything about them. Dorian has no trouble inflicting pain on his current parental figures, but he can’t stand hurting classmates. Why would he want to make his time away from his parents miserable? Unfortunately, his anger issue is often beyond his control and even friends are safe from biting remarks and fits of yelling when he’s angry.
When Dorian is sad, he will withdraw into a seclusion that lasts for hours or days. He hates change and doesn’t cope well with loss. Conflict is an edgy situation. If he’s not directly involved, he’ll try to make peace. Sex, smoking, and drinking are the three things he wont do. It would seem coming home smelling of the latter two is enough to set off his parents. It’s a hobby of his on summer holidays. He’s strait, but he’s sort of ‘whatever’ about homosexuality. As long as guys aren’t hitting on him, he’s fine with it.
He has a habit of people watching and whenever people ask stupid questions about Canada, he starts using ‘eh’ every other word to annoy them.
Likes: Dorian has an affinity towards small dogs. He loves Pomeranians with an undying devotion. As towards their feline counterparts, he only likes them as kittens, as that’s when they’re cute and cuddly. But if a cat is fluffy enough as an adult, like Turkish Angoras, he’s got no problem with it. His favorite color is rust red, because ‘it goes well with gold, white, and olive, all in a nice stripy pattern’. He’ll listen to any kind of music but rap and country. He loves Chinese takeout, because it reminds him of what he refers to as ‘the good old days’.
Dislikes: Dorian fears old people, the kind in senior homes, but he doesn’t know how to react to them. The one thing he wants out of life is for his step-father to lay off, his youngest siblings to disappear, and for his real father to come back. He hates liars, especially the ones that do it strait out to your face. But he seems to have not problem with it when he’s the one lying. He doesn’t like people who are constantly ‘in your face’. You know the type? The ones who put you in uncomfortable situations, badger you endlessly, and poke their nose where it doesn’t belong. Basically, the ones who put you on the spot, make you stand on your toes. Also, he has a definite hate of ladybugs, whom he considers the most annoying insects ever, including mosquitoes.
History: Dorian’s Mother and father were high school lovers, though his father, Damian Stratford, was two years older. They married as soon as his Aireal graduated. Well they had to didn’t they? After all, how long can a girl go pregnant unnoticed? They were typical muggles, though as Dorian later found out, his father’s great grandparents had been a witch and squib.
Dorian lived for 8 years with his mother in Ontario, Canada. He was french Canadian by nationality and his father had quite a bit of metis blood in him. The small family lived in a beat down little house in a beat up area where the housing was cheap. He even had twin brother, three years younger than him. When Dorian was 7(the twins were 4), his father was taken into custody of suspicion of participation in a murder case. Unfortunately that suspicion had evidence, and the last time Dorian saw his father, Damian was being led out of the courthouse to be transported to prison. His mother forbade visits to him, so Dorian never knew that his father insisted he was innocent. Maybe it was racism, but Dorian never found out. Besides, his father didn’t exactly have a clean street rep. He’d been involved in robberies and with drug dealers before.
Dorian was devastated. He’d always been close with his father. He remembered that one year, for his birthday, Damian moved the twin’s cribs from his room to his parents. He’d put the free space to use by painting a wall with the special concoction that allowed you to draw on them with chalk.
Just before Dorian turned 9, His mother packed them up and moved. She had gotten a job in an AKC establishment in North Dakota, but she was still working night shifts at a diner to keep them fed. Dorian and his brothers, Jacob and Joshua (Dorian had never liked those names), spent a lot of time helping their mother. They even got summer jobs. Everything got really busy with all the different events that were held there. Dorian suspected it was here that he developed his affinity to toy dogs. He didn’t mind so much that she’d hired someone to home-school them. After all their last hadn’t been the greatest. It was the inner city kind with metal detectors and security officers. Though the dull tutor that now visited daily was about as exciting as a bucket of doorknobs. That was probably why her fees were so cheap.
But his enjoyment of the canines had its limits. The object of his hatred came in the form of Kent Devereaux. Yes, Shiny business man, CEO to be vaguely exact, and dog owner and racer of the side. It wasn’t long before Dorian started noticing Kent’s attempts to win over his mother. What did he want with a lower class woman with kids any ways? That was one of the things he was holding on to, but it seems that even learning she had three kids to look after and a murderer for an ex-husband hadn’t managed to scare him off.
And his mother was impressed. She fell head over heels for the blue eyed and fair-haired Yuppie. By the time his tenth birthday rolled around, Dorian had a top notch tutor, a large room overlooking a gravel driveway and a manmade pool, they had moved to Kent’s estate in Britain, and most shocking of all, a stay at home mom. Aireal and Kent were acting as if they were married. His mother had what his father could never have given her, but she’d always wanted any ways, and wouldn’t you know it? She was pregnant again.
Dorian did all he could to stay out of the house. He played soccer with a few of the locals, or as they called it ‘Football’. He was pretty good at it too. He would have entered some sort of league if it wouldn’t have meant getting Kent’s approval. He managed to fall in with a group of pre-mature drinkers and smokers. He came home smelling so badly of the stuff; it really set Aireal and Kent off. Now, more than ever, Kent tried to win him over. Dorian’s room was full of expensive electronics and whatever else he had ever shown even the smallest interest in, and even things that he hadn’t. It made him sick.
But Dorian was overcome with glee when he got his letter. He would be leaving! And the best part? Kent absolutely refused to let him go! It was perfect! He’d be away from them all year and it would be against Kent’s wishes! Admittedly, it took a fair bit of pleading and begging, and he even had to swear off smoking and drinking, even though he’d never done it himself, to get his mother on his side. He was going to Hogwarts, whatever that was, and there was nothing Kent could do about it.
But Dorian soon learned what Hogwarts was. And he found it hard to go back home on summer holidays. Even though he now enjoyed the pampering his mother gave him when he came home. He was especially pleased that she brushed Kent off and went out of her way to take him to places like museums and amusement parks all summer. But coming back to Hogwarts was always Amazing. He got to see his friends, and he got to be blissfully unaware of Kent and all his troubles at home. He was especially pleased when his twin brothers were also accepted, to be sorted this year. But it is not without mixed feelings this year that he returns, as no one will be at home to try and disrupt the engagement that Kent had finally proposed that summer.
ABOUT YOU Name: Aryn Years of Experience: Me? Wow, I’ve been roleplaying for a good 4 years, now that I think about it. But be warned, I’ve only done a few human roleplays. I mostly do wolf or medieval fantasy. Sample Post:MRAR! Now I have to find one -.- Be right back!
(k! I’ve got one from last summer This is Azazeal, my moody wolf. His father coereced a female into carrying his puppies, then he fled the pack with them awhile after. He trained, or attempted to train, them in the ways of his own trade as an all around murderer. Unfortuantely, the youngest of the pups was a whimp that he left behind, Azazeal as his younger sister, Lilith were in between, and the oldest two, Proserpine and Nightwish were just like their father, Memphis. Proserpine and Nightwish teamed up and killed Lilith when she one a year old. Now Azazeal is two years old and he fears his father’s tolerance is finally coming to an end. Don’t worry though, after this, His friend Murasaki shows up and convinces him to run away with her and Vine. –nodnod- shhh, don’t tell anyone, but Azazeal is in looove with Murasaki.)
Azazeal moved with haste and anger. A wasp thought it amusing to buzz around his head and Azazeal growled and snapped at it. He quickened his pace to be rid of it. His hackles were raised and he took each step as if the ground had seriously offended him. He looked around angrily, and found himself just barely past the borders. He'd followed a brook into a grove of trees. Peachy.
Well, at least now he had time to recuperate, organize his thoughts, and plan his next move. He was now fully grown, but he still wished to receive more training. But not from Memphis. He moved to sit moodily with his back to a tree staring into the water, which tumbled over itself in a confusing flurry. The slight swell had been cause by the melted snow from the past winter, but it was dying down.
Azazeal glared down at it as if, it too, had done him a great personal wrong. If he wasn't careful, he'd be up against the rest of the elements too, Azazeal thought sarcastically. Then he moved back to the matter of mentors. He wanted to seek someone besides his father. He thought immediately of the lead Mentor, Jaques, who apparently was training one of Apollyon's sons. With only one pupil, would it not be possible for Azazeal to seek him out and take a position as an apprentice? He would have liked Caym, but he wanted better then Caym. He wanted the one that was worthy to teach Apollyon's son. The one who had taught Apollyon himself.
If Jacques was not available or Azazeal failed to promote himself, he didn't know what he'd do. He realized vaguely now that he'd been wandering in search for the brute, but he'd lost track and ended up here instead. Azazeal brooded silently. He'd already decided to put all this relationship nonsense behind him. The now grown wolf was going to take things more critically from now on. His goals had shifted too. No longer was he out to get Proserpine, or even Nightwish. His goal was to keep himself alive. He could co-exist with his siblings for as long as that took. As long as it took for him to get himself out of here.
He wasn't going to leave anytime soon either. He wanted his training, otherwise he could not deem himself worthy to be on is own. He had no where to go either. Tohel would not welcome him. He wondered vaguely if it still existed. It seemed many wolves from that area had arrived here with their enmities toward him and his biological fellows. What had happened to make them leave? It was something he hadn't looked into nor heard rumors of, and frankly, he didn't really care.

First off, before I say anything, this is a marvelous application.
I am not aware if you have read this thread or not, but I advise you do. You see, I'm fed up with people not following the rules. So, please, list his likes and dislikes before I am forced to delete this application all together.

Sorry I hadn't seen it. I haven't read the updates thread, just the rules.
-sigh- I suppose I'm forced to extract the likes and dislieks from his personality. Just give me a few minutes ^^
Sorry again.
