Paddy

Male

Sixteen

Sixth

Appearance:
With but a single glance upon this wild, spirited child one could easily recognize Padraig to be an Irish boy as his roots seem to echo through his every feature. His eyes certainly do as they are a brilliant vivid green that coloring matches almost to perfection the thick canopy of his forest homeland. And much like the forest, these eyes of his constantly seemed to be ablaze with life and energy, as though a deep inner light were shining through them. But though his eyes are unique and considered by many to be his greatest feature, Paddy has been known to grow quite annoyed with them in the past as they constantly provide a sort of window into his mind, reflecting his every emotion. For whenever Paddy is troubled or sad, his usually bright eyes seem to cloud over reflecting his mood. Or when Padraig is acting like his usual spirited self, they light up instantly with so much color, one could notice the emerald hue from nearly twenty paces away. Yet this is not necessarily a good trait for this young messenger to possess, as it has made lying very difficult for him in the past as his emotions shine so clearly through his eyes. Indeed, despite all of his innate cleverness and sharp tongue, he has actually proven to be a very poor liar.
Yet very few perceive the sharpness of his mind when they first meet Paddy because they are more prone to notice his friendly, and appearance. This is due to the fact that this young man possesses the tendency to offer the world a smile rather often, frequently for no obvious reason at all. His smile has always been one of his best features for when his mouth is curved upward in a wide beam, the rest of his features seem to glow with life. Because of its brilliance, many claim that Paddy’s smile is rather contagious as it possesses so much spirit which is difficult to ignore.
Perhaps the most accurate reason why Padraig’s smile stands out as much as it does is due to the fact that he possesses a rather pale complexion, another trait inherited from his Irish roots. For though Paddy spends the vast majority of his time outdoors underneath the hot sun, he simple does not have the ability to tan. This fact has been very problematic to the this mischievous boy, for instead of turning a his skin deep bronze, it seems the sun only succeeds in adding more freckles to his pale facial features. For Padraig has always had a light speckling of freckles that sprinkle across his cheeks and over the bridge of his nose, that gives him a natural youthful, or boyish appearance.
This freckles stand out even more against Paddy’s pale skin as their coloring matches the hue of Padraig’s hair almost to perfection. For this young boy was born with classic thick, raven Irish hair that twists and curls at the bottoms as though it were wild, and had a mind of its own. Before attending Hogwarts, Paddy used to tie these ebon curls back loosely at the nape of his neck though he cut it several days before he left his forest land. Now it sits restlessly over his ears and forehead, often threatening to blind him as the dark silken strands frequently fall over his emerald eyes. Still, Padraig has no wish to cut them again and sometimes actually misses the days he wore it long as he had grown used to playing with the ends of his curls during the times he had little to do. He does not mind the fact that his raven curls give him a very disheveled look, as he is used to looking wild.
For with his defiant emerald eyes and his untamed ebon locks, many people have noted that Paddy looks much like a small boy who was released into the forest as a babe and was raised like a woodland creature. He somehow always manages to look unpredictable and wild even when dressed in his most formal and elegant wizarding garments. Of course, one rarely finds Padraig dressed in this fashion as he usually can be found sprinting about in an old cloak who’s many tears and stains indicate the nature of the acitivies he has participated in. His favorite robe of all is an ancient charcoal gray one that is so large, it looks more like he wrapped and tied a blanket around himself than a cloak. It is surprising to few that Paddy’s clothing would be so large, for in comparison to his older brothers, he is a very thin boy. The old maid of his household used to watch in amazement as this young boy would shove handful after handful of berries and breads into his mouth and not a single bite would appear upon his skinny form. This natural slenderness has been greatly enhanced by Padraig’s height, as he has always been an exceedingly tall young man, who even surpassed his oldest brother Donal when he was only 14. This lankiness has always given Paddy’s every movement an almost awkward look and he can not be considered a graceful person by any stretch of the imagination.
Yet though Padraig can still be considered awkward, as he has grown older, he has slowly begin to fill out greatly improving his currently too tall and too thin frame. These changes, blended with Paddy’s defiant emerald eyes and wild raven hair has caused him to grow into a rather handsome young man in a very unqiue, untraditional sort of way. Yet Padraig seems not to have noticed this as he could hardly care less about his appearance. Though he knows he is attractive, he is aware that there are many others who are far more striking and likely more handsome them himself, yet he does not care. For Paddy is satisfied with his boyishly good looks and thus does little to improve or enhance his appearance as he is simply not a vain boy. No, he’d much rather improve his mind rather than his exterior as he knows his cleverness and intelligence is his true strength.
Personality:
Padraig has been called a living mystery far more than just once in his life as he is often one difficult to understand. When others first meet him, this certainly does not seem this way, as Paddy is an exceedingly friendly young man. Whenever he is introduced to a person, he is always welcoming, playful, and sociable. In addition to this he constantly has a story or a joke to tell, and is rather good at opening others up and bringing those of a quiet nature out of their shell. One reason why he is able to do this is because Padraig has a very approachable appearance. For he possesses a lively, youthful sort of look to him, and can frequently be found with a wide, contagious smile on his lightly freckled features.
In addition to being approachable, Paddy is also rather likable in many ways, since he can be charismatic, charming and fun. This is simply because he is an exceedingly quick and clever individual who always has a joke or comment to make. People cannot help but to notice his sharp tongue as he always has a flippant, observant, amusing, and often sarcastic remark to make. He is undoubtedly a sharp young man, and tends to dominate battles of the word. This is simply because witty repertoire is a forte he happens to excel in. Because of his innate cleverness, he is a very amusing and playful person to be around as he is constantly cracking jokes that others can appreciate.
Yet Padraig’s skill with words extends past battles of the wits, as it also makes him a talented orator and story teller. Indeed, Paddy has always had the ability to spin an intricate, beautiful tales, or can deliver inspirational and persuasive speeches. He is excellent at captivating the attention of others, and is undoubtedly a very interesting and compelling to be around. Through his word play, one can see one of Padraig’s most defining characteristics: his intelligence.
For Paddy has always been an exceedingly sharp, intellectually gifted, and opinionated individual because he has a shrewd eye and is rather observant. He has a skill at reading people and tends to see things that other people fail to notice. Yet at the same time, while this can be seen as a virtue, it also serves as a flaw in his character as well. For Padraig’s cunning has led to him becoming rather a judgmental. Few people realize this, as they see him instead as just a playful, friendly individual. Yet while he is joking, teasing, and laughing with others, particularly those he has just met, he is often sizing them up as well and judging their potential in his mind. Obviously, he does have the tendency to be a bit arrogant at times yet he is really more ‘boyishly cocky’ than actually conceited as he is well aware of his flaws, and is often quick to make fun of himself.
In addition to this, the aspect of Paddy that can be seen as mysterious or difficult to understand is the fact that he can be reserved at times. This starkly contrasts his seemingly friendly, playful, and sociable disposition. At times, he simply likes to be left alone so that he can ponder and mull over his own thoughts and observations. He finds himself the calmest and most comfortable whenever he is walking alone through the grounds or nestled under a large tree. Those who know him best often leave him alone at times so that he can attend to his thoughts, understanding that he has a deep streak of individuality and independence that cannot be broken.
Yet there are times that Padraig’s strong sense of self-sufficiency can work against him as it has made him a rather untrusting boy. Though he will talk, tease, and laugh with just about everyone, he will confide in very few. He is the type that keeps many people around him, yet few people close. Still, to those he has opened up too and confided in, Paddy has an impenetrable sense of loyalty to and makes an excellent friend. Though he is very opinionated, he would never disagree or disrespect a good companion of his in public. Instead, knowing when to hold his tongue and how to always show support, he would wait until they were in a private area before he expressed his true mind. In addition to this, Padraig can be very protective, almost excessively so, and is always looking out for those who he cares about most. Because of these qualities, it is to one’s advantage to try to befriend this charismatic, playful, strong willed, and intelligent young boy, despite his flaws, as friends to him are simply sacred.

History:
Deep within an ancient forest located in Southern Ireland, a large stone manor sits nestled in the trees like an lonesome ship stranded in a sea of knarled oaks and graceful willows. This manor is unique in appearance as it is made from solid stone and fashioned much like a castle. The thick wooden entrance and two sizeable towers located on the western and eastern walls of this structure enhance this likeness, hinting that perhaps this manor was once a great, impenetrable citadel. But while this structure is still obviously sturdy and durable, it appears now to be more of a work of architectural art rather than a fortress. For this Manor is well taken care of as nearly all signs of age have been erased. This is mainly because the stones that form this impressive structure are well cleansed and polished so that that they gleam a handsome gray. But while the coloring of the material is alluring, the vivid green branches of ivy that climb these walls are even more impressive. For the ivy does well to enhance the beauty of this structure and succeeds in blending this man-made structure into the natural woodlands surrounding it.
But while this proud Manor is quite remarkable to behold, its splendor is easily bested by the lush, emerald forest it resides in which is so vivid in coloring and alive with an inner life it seems almost surreal. For the trunks of the trees in this sylvan terrain are enormous and the branches are long and lovely making this ocean of green quite breathtaking. But while these woodlands are alluring, and the Manor that rests upon its ground is impressive, those who dwell in this forest region as equally enticing.
For deep inside this terrain, The O’Mordhas, a proud, powerful, and well known Irish Family lives and flourishs. Generation after generation, the illustrious O’Mordha Family has prospered upon this beautiful Gaelic Land, dwelling in its lush emerald forests living more like Irish Kings than powerful Purebloods. Times, of course, have changed though and Ireland is not the country it once was, but somehow this family has survived and continues to produce heirs, though they too have made many changes a well.
The current head of the O’Mordha Family is a man named Tiarnán, who fell and love and married a wealthy muggle (Tiarnán was the first to marry outside the bloodline as his father before him had married a half blood, which ended the purebood line) named Saorise who hailed from a significant family in Dublin. The union between Tiarnán and Saorise produced seven children in all. This large number was not exactly surprising as this wedded couple was a remarkably happy one that found both a true sense of love and belonging with one another. These sentiments led quickly to the production of muliple children, though it was the sons that were born first: Dónal (world leader), Kael (mighty warrior), and Padraig. Dónal, the oldest of the sons were fated to be the heir to the O’Finnigan Family and its forest lands the moment he drew his first breath. He never once flinched away from this responsibility though as he resembled his father in the fact that he was stern, serious, and an excellent leader.. Kael was the next son and child Tiarnán and Saoirse’s union produced, and he was a born fight who grew to be a fiercely loyal young man…with a horrid temper.
The next son born, Paddy, was likely the most likeable son of all for was born with a spirited, intelligent, and playful soul that would rival even his mother’s, as well as friendly and bold disposition. As a child, this young O’Mordha boy would frequently run into the forest and dash in and out of the trees of the forest as though he were a wild creature. In addition to this, he would often entice his siblings with a tale for he excellent at story telling since he possessed the imagination and storytelling ability that many of his O’Mordha ancestors were known for. In addition to that, Paddy was easily the most attentive of all the sons to the daughters of the family as he frequently spoiled them with his attention.
Little sisters were a common sight in Padraig’s household as he had four of them in total: Rionach (wise one, pronounced ‘Ree-na‘), Aoife (fair one, pronounced ‘Ee-fa‘), Caoimhe (gentle beauty, pronounced ‘Key-va’), and little Niamh (bright and radiant one, pronounced ‘Neeve‘). Though all young of this small girls loved their three older brothers, they adored Paddy best of all as he showered them with attention, stories, and jokes. Of the four, Caoimhe and Niamh perhaps loved him better than the rest as the three of them had kin spirits as the forest always seemed to speak to them as a mother would speak to her child. Often, the three of them would rush off together into the woods. There, Brady and Niamh would climb trees, swim together in the river or tell stories to one another on its shore, while Caoimhe would watched and listen. For alike Padraig and Niamh, she was a quiet child who was fond of sitting still, observing her surroundings, and daydreaming in a natural enviroment. Though Paddy and Niamh were the only one of her siblings to share her in her deep love and connection to the forest, the were much different from her in personality. They, in contrast to her calm sweet, were both wild, spirited, playful, clever, and opinionated. Because of their similiarties, whenever Paddy went, little Niamh could always be found trailing faithfully after him as this particular brother was her idol and the object of her adoration. Times for them all where very good.
Yet all good things must come to an end, which has proven to be truer than Padraig would have liked to admit. His childhood began to come to a close once his two older brothers left for St. Patrick’s, a private wizarding school in Ireland that was all boys, and offered security away from the chaos in Britain. Soon after, it was Paddy’s turn to go to wizarding school himself, but he stubbornly refused to go to his father’s and brother’s school. To him, it was too small..and too snobby. After much argueing, Saorise talked her husband into allowing Padraig to chose where he wanted to go..and he chose Hogwarts.
Though he did not regret his choice, it was difficult for Paddy to not only leave only his family, and his beloved forest..but his entire country as well. Still, Padraigh has always been a bright, clever young man which a thread of boyish cockiness so that he arose to any challenge. He began his first day at Hogwarts with his head held high, though his heart ache for his childhood and old life. Still, his choice to attend a school outside his beloved homeland proved beneficial as Padraig soon began to form strong friendships with his fellow students and began to look at Hogwarts as his second home.

For the last twenty minutes or so Ronan had been wandering down the streets of Killybegs seemingly with no purpose at all. He had no ittinery, nothing specific to purchase and so he was given a rare moment of complete freedom were he could do as he pleased. Originally, he thought that the greatest way to pass his time would be to call upon the old storyteller Sorcha at her cottage. It certainly wouldn’t have been the first time he had visited her and she had always been very kind and gracious to him in the past. But as he began to stroll down the streets of Killybegs, his head bent down as he had a tendency to slouch his heightened form, a flyer advertising Patrick and Son’s Pet Shop was snatched up by the wind and blown playfully against this young Irish boy’s ankles.
Ronan was quick to grab the flyer before the ever impish wind decided to carry it elsewhere and after reading it, he resolved that perhaps a stop at the Pet Shop would be quite enjoyable. He had been their several times in the past, mainly during his younger years at Dru, and he had always loved the energy of the shop. For the owl section and the cat isle where always booming with people eager to buy high quality pets from this little shop, but the back area where all the rarer breeds (that would likely never be purchased) were stored was usually very quiet. For while all the animals there were beautiful and exotic..they were quite expensive as well and most people turned away before they could even eye the costly price tags.
Once entering the store, Ronan quickly made his way past the crowd with a small smile of amusement as it was entertaining for him to watch several little girls coo over the kittens and grown men arging over the price of a rather ugly barn owl. Once he had made this way past these humble folk, Ronan then scurried his heightened frame away over to the back section, wondering if he favorite animal of all was still there whom he used to visit during all his trips to Killybegs.
As Ronan finally rushed forward and into the back corner, his bright green gaze quickly became filled with the vision of black and green as his emerald eyes fell upon the form of the store’s Augurey. With a smile, he stepped forward though the Augurey instantly scurried back in his cage until a look of recognization appeared in his ebon eyes and he shuffled forward once again. Ronan grinned at this, feeling a connection to the bird, and so and leaned in up against the cage watching this old friend of his with a boyish grin. For while the creature infront of him was a thin, mournful, pathetic looking bird who many thought resembled a vulture..Ronan had always thought the Augurey was beautiful.
