ABOUT THE CHARACTER Name: Nicole Shalen Age: 32 Gender: Female Class: Transfiguration Celebrity: Angelina Jolie
Facial Properties: Her face is normal in width, though nothing is normal about her beautiful eyes. They capture you with their sharp, grayness, piercing through a liar. Her eyes are accented with long, dark lashes and lined with arched brows. Slight, rich, brown curls fall to her upper back. For teaching they are pulled up into a tight bun, and wrapped in a deep purple ribbon. She has a long, narrow nose, but it is not "pointed," if you will. Beneath it lies full, rosy lips edged with dimples. Her smile is beautiful and wide, with stunningly white teeth. Her skin is quite even, and has just the slightest tan. Although, pimples are quite frequent. Physique: This is the part she isn't exactly fond of. Her legs are long, but freakishly skinny. Then her hips seem to blend into the rest of her body. She has nearly no curves whatsoever, therefore she wears loose, heavy dresses or cloaks. Her arms are quite short, and fingers rather sausage-like. She has very petite feet for her great height, for she stands at six feet and two inches.
Personality: Nicole is very outgoing and friendly. Her heart is always forgiving, although if you betray her once it's easy for her to think you betrayed her again. She is very tough, and does not break down easily. In other words, she is not sensitive. In a normal situation, she's the one to say, "Hey! I'm Nicole. Don't think I've seen you around." She is very intelligent, of course, but does not like to brag about it. She is proud inside herself, but humble on the outside.
Her bad side is nasty, beyond what nasty can mean. She's either really nice, or freakishly horrid. It takes a lot to get her fired up, so students are well aware to keep their mouths shut normally. If she goes silent, she's deadly. This happens rarely, but still, students beware.
She treats her class very nicely. When there is a minor "offense" put on by a student, she almost makes a joke out of it but gets the point across that it won't happen again. She is awfully strict about being on time, but will only deduct house points when a student is more than fifteen minutes late. Otherwise, she is rather generous with points, but effort is still needed to receive them.
When school lets out, Nicole is married to a healer at St. Norbert's Hospital, and they live in a small cottage a few miles outside of the Hogwarts grounds. For her job, Nicole runs a magical pre-school for the children that are not old enough for Hogwarts. This does well, and her own child, Tina, goes there. Five more years until Proffesor Shalen will be teaching her own child.
Likes: Nice students, magical creatures, a few muggle animals, watching Quidditch, reading. Dislikes: Rude/obnoxious students, students OR people who think they are better than others, howlers, lakes.
History: It's kind of a mixed pot of happiness and despair. She was born into a family with one older brother, Allen. When she was four, her mother had twin boys. Her family was about a notch above average, except for the fact that it was an all wizarding family. They were humble about it, and did not like to refer to themselves as "pure-bloods". All was happy and well, until Nicole's tenth birthday, the year before her entrance to Hogwarts.
The family of David and Sarah, the parents, Allen, the oldest, Nicole, and James and Jeremy, the twins, set out for the beach. It was on a considerably sized lake, and also considerably deep. They were done with the balogna sandwiches, and finished off the chocolate-dipped strawberries, so they all went swimming. Even the twins, who were six years old. There was also a dock, and their mother decided to jump off. Off she went, but as she hit the water, she had taken the breath of air to late. Her plunge sent her down, and she had panicked. Nicole's father jumped out to save her, but could not drag her up to the surface. Nicole and Allen could merely watch, dumbfound with horror. That was the day they were orphaned.
Allen was seventeen, so he could not support the grieving family. So, their godparents stepped in. They were awfully nice people, so the children did not mind. They were wizards and witches, too, so they made sure that Nicole was sent off to Hogwarts the following year. Nicole had been placed into Ravenclaw, and this motivated her to become a teacher.
During her years at Hogwarts, she served as a beater in Quidditch. She was quite successful. She also served as Head Girl, and frankly Nicole loved it! After Hogwarts, she was able to become an Auror, but decided against it. She wanted to train to become a teacher at Hogwarts. Resume: 8 Years - Cataloger at Gringotts 2 Years - Receptionist at St. Norberts Hospital 5 Years - Teacher at a Girl's Witchery school
ABOUT YOU Name: Kiki Years of Experience: Three Sample Post: (This was from an equine role play: I have a human sample, though it only has three, meaty paragraphs.)
And in the end, all works out...
What a sight. What - a - sight. A small little filly, moping about. Her little spindly legs damp up to her shoulder, she still manages to make them go. Droplets of frozen water clinging to the hair around her lip, she still manages to drink. Ah, but she can drink and not eat. She has no mother to suckle from, therefore she is becoming more malnourished by the day. And more sickly, too. Hypothermia is catching up to her, wrapping itself around her small, barely thumping heart. Blowing its icy, deathly breath over her small, trembling body. It wasn't there, yet, but it was coming.
________________________________
There she walks, over there. A swift pace for such a youngster, yet she has no choice. She knew all too well that if you drag your body about, you blood slows down. And then - death. What a horrible word, she thought. What an incredibly, horrendous, twisted word. And for Monada to know what it was is such a sad thought. She is not even a year. Yet she has experienced it. No, not personally, otherwise me writing this story of a youth would have no time worthy point.
________________________________
Two seasoned equines, bickering about. They must know each other, of course, Monada thought. Her Arabian molded ears pricked up, trying their hardest to catch the words. Maybe these were the ones Cazrick had told her to find? Nah, what would be the chances of that? What if it was... the filly thought. But what if Cazrick hasn't found the ones HE is supposed to go to? One by one unanswered questions plopped into the pool that was her mind. A few could have possible theories thought up as answers. Struggling to maintain a steady walk, Monada picked up a silent trot to the arguing couple. She stood behind the ivory one, the mare.
________________________________
The filly stood in the equine's shadow trembling, wondering what to do. She feared to use what little voice she had, yet it might be in her favor to do so. A small head peeked around to set small eyes on a large frame of a brute. She snatched her gaze away and continued to cower behind the mare. A question had been given to her. Wait, Monada? No, no, no. The mare. A small sigh of relief came, but it was cut short. She didn't want anyone knowing she was there. Or was it better for her to make herself known?
...even when the fear is dealt out. Other: *edited*

Very good application and I'm glad to say that you are our first teacher!
But, before I accept you, you must add two more paragraphs to your "Personality". The minimum is four, I believe. You can describe what she does in her spare time or her life over the summer outside of Hogwarts. Either way, it must be a little bit longer.
The rest is fine, though.

Ugh, I'm sorry. I forgot which things required 4 paragraphs! I shall get on it right away. *salutes*
