ABOUT THE CHARACTER Name: Catherine Marie Spyro Age: 21 Gender: Female Class: Divinations Celebrity: Liv Tyler
Facial Properties: Cat has eyes that are a startling and shocking shade of blue, so cold that they might seem to be hurting you from a simple gaze or such. Cat's eyes were almond shaped and said to be so piercing that they looked straight through you. They are said to be able to see what's inside you, tell what you're thinking. Her eyes are most definently her most exquisite feature, her best by far. Her hair is a deep chestnut brown color, thick, and reaches to her shoulders. She can often be seen wearing it up, though ocassionally will wear it down, when it is a special ocassion arises or something to that affect. Her skin is pale and flawless, always perfectly smooth and free of blemishes. Though, if she stresses herself out too much, you can always tell by the way her bottom lip is red, from her biting it in frustration.
Physique: Cat isn't all that tall, standing at only five feet and five inches, but that doesn't make her any less intimidating. She isn't one to be unhappy with her height, and never complains about being short. She feels like it is an advantage. Cat is of an average weight, not overly skinny but not huge either. She is classified as one of the smaller of her age merely because of her height, though that doesn't seem to bother her. She wears simple clothing, taking too much time for her studies to worry too much about her looks. Most of the time, she seems to be laid back with her appearance. Her long, lean legs are most likely to be strewn out and leaned across the floor, crossed at the heel. She has a deep sense of calm about her, an aura of sorts.
Personality: Cat has a very weird personality, but it all seems to fit together. She seems to have almost Scorpio sign like traits, though she wasn't born near that sign at all. That means that she would be determined, forceful, emotional, intuitive powerful, passionate, exciting, and magnetic. These traits, all common to the Scorpion sign, describe her perfectly. Some of her less flattering traits include Jealousy, being resentful, compulsiveness, being obsessive, being very secretive, and obstinate. She is also very mysterious, keeping her past hidden no matter who you are. It is very hard to earn her trust or respect, but some have been known to do so.
Her final trait, and perhaps most predictable, is her cunningness, only to be expected of one who previously belonged to the house of Slytherin. She seems to love the darker side of things, oddly enough, though those interests she keeps to herself and herself alone. Cat has many secrets, more then she would like to admit. Most people don’t know of her secrets, of who she really is inside. She seems to be keen on having friends, no doubt, though that decision is not based on what you are. She doesn’t particularly judge people based on their blood, or who they may be in society. She bases her opinion on them due to personal facts, what she knows of them, what she has seen them do. She basis her opinion on their acts, who they are to her, not who they are to anyone else. She is very stubborn, and it will take a lot to change her mind on a subject.
Cat has many strengths, lying in many different places. Her strongest point is her intelligence. She probably has the mentality of someone twice her age, but doesn't usually flaunt it. Her second strength is her physical strength. She has been flying a broom since she was eight, and is able to play every position on the team, though her best position by far is seeker. She is also physically strong in the sense that she has trained her body to be able to withstand anything. She realizes the importance of both physical and mental strength, and has trained herself to be successful in both aspects of life. Another strength is obviously her ability to view events that will happen in the future. Cat has few strong points. Of course, her intelligence and beauty may be considered a strong point, but she doesn't use it for her own means. Her strongest point of all is manipulating people. She can make people see what she wants, she can make them give it to her. She can make them think that it will, somehow, benefit them as well.
Cat's weaknesses lie in the realm of acting with others. When it comes to people, Ali has little tolerance. She seems to have little or no patience with them, though she tries to hide that. She has only a few close friends, and even they do not know everything about her. Her other weakness is her family. Hurt any of them, she will run, she will try to help. They are the only ones she truly cares for. Cat has many, many flaws. She just hates to show them. She hates to show flaws or weaknesses to anyone, though, if you dig deep enough, her flaws will be found, more then likely. She is in no way perfect, she may be smart, and beautiful. But one thing she lacks is self confidence. She is constantly doubting herself, constantly thinking she can't do something.
Likes: Cat loves many things, though they may seem few and far apart. She loves to read and learn. Her passion for Quidditch is also very strong and very alive despite the time she has played it. She loves flying on her broom, and that is her main stress relief point. She also loves almost any animal, with the exception of rats, she hates the little creatures. Dislikes: Cat hates people at most times, though she can tolerate a few select people at certain times. She hates rats, as stated before, due to the fact of their tiny, creepy, tiny nature. She hates most younger kids unless they are her sister, which she loves dearly.
History: She was born in the winter, in December, just before Christmas. Her parents were happy back then, together, at peace. They were well off, her father was a muggle but held a high job at one of the biggest businesses in the country, and her mother was a descendant of one of the darkest witches ever known to the wizarding world, and she didn’t let the name down at all. Cat quickly learned her mother’s ways, of evil and secrets, and accepted them, as any child would accept a lesson from their mother. Little did she know her mother was using them all along. She showed signs of being like her evil mother from the start, both in personality and appearance. And the fact that she too, like her mother, seemed to have a knack for being a seer, or one who could view the future.
Lila had the same dark blye eyes, a glare that could scare many. By age six could already read as much as she wanted, and she did, it was her escape. When Cat turned seven, a new member was born to the family, her little sister Lissie. However, the father of the child was not Jack, they are not really sure who it was. After that, things began to get tough. Jack didn’t trust Lila, he never should have trusted her to begin with. The fighting got worse and worse, until it was unbearable for both the kids. What was worse, was Cat's power seemed to be becoming stronger, the visions more random. As any small child would be, she was scared.
Cat was around ten when they arranged the divorce. But Lila wasn’t about to let anyone ruin her plans. A few days after Cat’s 10th birthday, the biggest fight broke out among the family. It was a dark night, cold and snowy. Cat and Lissie were in Cat’s room, where they often took refuge together during the many fights. Despite their age difference, they were very, very close, and comforted each other during these times. Even though Lissie was only three, she knew something bad was happening, and Cat was unable to calm her that night. She was already having enough trouble holding back a large vision.
It was midnight when they heard the gun shot. Cat was frightened, she had been awake, but the shot had awoken Lissie now. Terrified, she raced down stairs to the most obvious source of protection: her father, rather, the one she had known as a father her whole life. She found him dead on the floor. Cat reached her side moments later, and knew exactly who was responsible, because of the vision and because of common sense. Her mother wanted no evidence left behind, no secrets spilled. She knew Lisse was far too young to remember much of anything.
But she had forgotten how smart Cat was, and how she observed every little detail. She had not forgotten a thing. They were placed in foster care shortly after, and Cat hated every minute of it, wanting freedom. It wasn’t until a year later that she got her letter from Hogwarts, her wish granted. Though she was worried about leaving her sister alone, she accepted the letter and attended. She was sorted into the house of Slytherin for her cunning nature, and made a few close friends.
She played seeker for 5 of her 7 years of attendance and was captain for 3 years. The foster parents were, luckily, wizards as well, and took good care of Lissie all the while Cat was at school. Any breaks she got sent her running home to visit. Her foster parents from the year her dad died up until she turned seventeen became like second, much better parents to her and Lissie. Cat left Hogwarts and attempted a job at a shop that specialized in the future for a while, but missed the school desperately.
A little after Lissie had begun her education at Hogwarts, Cat returned to teach what had always been her favorite and best subject: Divinations. She is happy here, but her past will always haunt her. Her mother is still out there somewhere, as is her sister’s father, whom they suspected to be a dark wizard himself. Watching the kids, watching Cat.
Resume: She has many qualities that would qualify her for this job. First off, she has had this ability her whole life, and has lived with it and learned from it and therefore mastered it. She has taken classes on it for roughly seven years and after she left Hogwarts, she went and worked in a shop that specialized in futuristic viewing items. There, though it was cheap pay, she worked hard. She gave people's fortunes and other such things, and worked hard to make everything accurate. Briefly, she also worked at a small bookstore, but now she wants to come back. Ever responisible and a bit more grown up, she thinks that she is fit for the job. Though young, at only 21, she is determined to leave her mark on the school.
ABOUT YOU Name: Lindsy Years of Experience: 1 Year & 4 Months Sample Post: In a world where perfection was merely a cover up, Artemis would've been their poster child. She hid..everything. She was far from perfect, so far it hurt her sometimes. No matter how much she hid it, she wasn't perfect. She had never been anywhere close to perfect. With a past that would of killed some, Artemis had survived. Barely, but....that was another story entirely.
She wasn't...she wouldn't tell anyone. Not even Bran, and he was her oldest and best friend. No, she wasn't even fully human. She was a...a...monster. And nothing she could do could change that. She was destined to be alone...so let her fucking live alone. Why did she bother with people anymore, why did she care?
Even with her air of perfection, she knew those close enough to her could tell there was something wrong. She just wasn't....she didn't fit. When they had made Artemis, they hadn't made her to fit. No, she was supposed to stand out, she was supposed to be...something spectacular. When the universe had gotten Artemis rather then some picture perfect ditz...it had sighed and gone back to the drawing board.
She sighed softly and looked around, her light blues scanning for...anything. Any sign of company wouldn't have been welcome right then. Not for what she was about to do. Who knew the Head Girl could have such a deep, dark secret? Well, she wasn't intending to let many find out.
Werewolves. They were what some people feared and what some people hated...but either way, they weren't too keen on them. And that was why she had to hide when she transformed. Just so nobody saw her this way. While her body itself changed, anyone who really knew her...they would know it was her without a moment's hesitation. Those bright blue eyes remained unchanged, the look in them so Artemis it was undeniable. She entered the court yard, and, as the full moon struck her bare arms...it became unbearable.
Her finger nails grew, the hair on the back of her neck bristled. Her arms lengthened. She was becoming so much less...her. If one of her friends came up to her now...well...she wouldn't think of that.
