Currently, we have 0 house points per house.
Any ideas on how to change that? Any suggestions on how to earn points for your house? Please post them here if so.
I need your input.

But, it would almost be impossible for that to happen considering we have only 2 teachers. One of which is currently inactive.

I'm not talking about you. We have another teacher who hasn't been on in weeks...
There has to be another way to earn points, right?

When the Quidditch games start, that would definately be a point earner. [obviously] Also, like Lindsey said, good behavior awards points, bad behavior takes them away. If someone discovers something horrible or out of the base of the rules, it could automatically bring down that houses' points; per say, like someone was out of school grounds or out of their dorms at night, then that thread would be reported to Abbie [the member, not the character], and the points would be deducted. Automatically. Or increased, of course.
It would be like the member that was in the thread that discovered or did the wrong-doing, told the Head Master, or the 'point counter' person.

Meh...ideas, ideas...
Maybe there can be competitions (like story-writing competitions, art competitions, etc.) where people can earn points for their houses? -shrugs- I hate those kinds of things, but it came to mind as an idea.
The only other idea I had was something to do with advertising the site. Sort of like referral points - if a member gets a friend to join the board, and that friend says, 'Yeah, ___ told me about this site!', that person could have just earned their house a number of points.

Hmm... how are we actually going to do the Quidditch Tournament anyway? It would be impossible to roleplay and a lot of sites just draw names out of a hat. But who would do the drawing?
Do we still roleplay practices?
Anyway, ideas...
Abbie, if you're stuck for staff, it might be a good idea to shorten the application. Less fields and requiring less bulk. I've been on a lot of sites where this has worked well - encouraging more people to play less fun parts. After all, you can tell a lot about somebody's roleplaying skills from their literacy. The ability to ramble on doesn't give you all that much reassurance. Also, you could encourage more potential teachers by giving house points to members who have active second accounts that are teachers.
I liked the idea that member's rule-breaking can take points from their character.
How about you have a 'Ball King & Queen' competition? Just the same as its prom counterpart. You have a nomination thread and a thread where runners can tell members why they deserve the vote. Each student has one vote that they send to Abbie via PM.
Winners announced at the end of the ball with a house point prize.

Tory's idea is cool I think. I also think the idea of breaking rules loosing points is good. You could do a thing where people get points for post count. Like if you make it to a certain number of posts than your house gets points.
